Ministry of Construction recognizes the area planned to establish An Duong district, Hai Phong city

The Ministry of Construction has just issued Decision No. 669/QD-BXD on recognizing the area planned to establish a district and ward in An Duong district, Hai Phong city as meeting the standards for urban infrastructure development.

Accordingly, the area planned to establish An Duong district, Hai Phong city is recognized as including: An Duong town; communes: An Hoa, An Dong, Dong Thai, Hong Phong Hong Thai, Le Thien, Le Loi, Nam Son, Bac Son, Dang Cuong, Quoc Tuan, Tan Tien of An Duong district meeting the standards of urban infrastructure development level applicable to the area planned to establish the district.

Recognize the areas of communes of An Duong district that are expected to be established as wards of An Duong district (expected to be established) that meet the standards of urban infrastructure development level applicable to wards of Type I urban areas, including: An Duong town area and Le Loi commune; An Hoa commune area; An Dong commune area; Dong Thai commune area; Hong Phong commune area; Hong Thai commune area; Le Thien commune area; Nam Son commune area and part of Bac Son commune; Dang Cuong commune area and Quoc Tuan commune area; Tan Tien commune area and part of Bac Son commune.

In the approval of the Adjustment of the General Planning of Hai Phong City to 2040, with a vision to 2050, An Duong is identified as the western expansion urban area of the central urban area, with the nature of being an industrial center, logistics services, education , healthcare, science and technology in the Northern Coastal region.

In terms of planning, An Duong will add urban functions and infrastructure to reduce the load on the historical urban center. Multi-functional commercial service centers on the main urban routes, logistics and industrial service centers on National Highway 10 and National Highway 5, and regional public functional areas for health, education and commercial services will be built. In addition, new investments will be made in ecological parks, urban agricultural parks that combine the maintenance of ecological diversity of the Re River, Lach Tray River and Cam River. The improvement of rural residential areas approaching urban standards will also be promoted.

According to Ms. Tran Thi Quynh Trang, Secretary of An Duong District Party Committee, the conversion into a district administrative unit will be an opportunity for An Duong to promote its advantages, make a breakthrough, develop sustainably and become a civilized, modern urban area, a growth pole of the western region of Hai Phong City.

In 2024, An Duong district continues to implement the theme: "Promoting urban beautification and modernization - Building a model new rural area - Implementing digital transformation". In the first 6 months of 2024, the district continues to focus on investing and gradually completing and synchronizing the socio-economic infrastructure system. In particular, the district has completed the procedures to deploy the construction of 9 projects on commercial housing, social housing, and urban areas with a total area of about 174 hectares. Along with that, focusing on site clearance for projects and construction of model new rural areas.

“The district’s infrastructure system is still being and will continue to be invested synchronously, especially in transportation, healthcare, education, culture, etc. With the drastic participation of the local government as well as the high consensus of the people, An Duong will ‘reach the finish line’ as planned,” shared District Party Secretary Tran Thi Quynh Trang.
