Minister of Construction Tran Hong Minh said that in recent times, agencies and units in the construction industry have always accompanied the Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, proactively and actively mobilizing, supporting and assisting people affected by natural disasters, storms and floods as well as other social security activities such as: programs to eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses, social housing, etc.
Responding to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support people affected by storms and floods, the Ministry of Construction and the Vietnam Construction Trade Union have mobilized cadres, employees, workers and businesses to support materially and spiritually with the spirit of "The healthy leaves cover the torn leaves".
"Through the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, the Ministry of Construction's support of 5 billion VND is the heart and sentiment of construction workers. We would like to share it with you, hoping to contribute a small part to help you overcome the damage and soon stabilize your lives," said Minister Tran Hong Minh.
The Minister added that in addition to this amount, units and enterprises of the Ministry of Construction also proactively and directly support people in localities. Recently, the Construction Newspaper coordinated with philanthropists, sponsors, the Fatherland Front, and local authorities to organize the transportation and donation of relief goods and cash to people in disadvantaged communes that suffered damage in Thai Nguyen province with a total value of more than 2 billion VND.
Receiving the support of officials, workers and employees in the construction sector, Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Do Van Chien acknowledged and highly appreciated the proactive and active role of the Ministry of Construction in preventing, overcoming and minimizing damage caused by storms and floods; as well as the companionship and support of officials, party members, civil servants, public employees and workers in the construction sector.

"In just a short time, storm after storm, flood after flood, now we have to prepare to respond to storm No. 12. We have proactively responded early, so although the flood caused damage to people's property, the loss of life was low. The affected people also received the attention, support and sharing of the people across the country. Up to now, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front has recorded more than 1,000 billion VND from agencies, organizations, units, businesses and individuals who donated and registered to donate to the affected people, including workers in the construction industry.
"On behalf of the Presidium and the Standing Committee of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, we would like to thank and receive, use for the right purpose, effectively, and promptly to the hands of those in need of support, helping people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives," Chairman Do Van Chien said, expressing his hope that in the near future, the Construction industry will research and propose engineering and non-engineering solutions to effectively and sustainably prevent floods and inundation.
