Eat enough, balanced and varied foods; Drink enough water every day; Read the nutritional information on food labels carefully before buying and using; Limit the use of fried foods, fast foods high in fat, salt, sugar, sugary drinks, alcohol... are reasonable nutritional advice from the Ministry of Health .
The Ministry of Health has issued Decision No. 3594/QD-BYT promulgating " Ten tips for proper nutrition by 2030" .
According to the decision signed by Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Lien Huong - Deputy Minister of Health, "Ten tips for proper nutrition until 2030" is the basis for units in the health sector to serve the communication and nutritioneducation work to improve knowledge and proper nutrition practices among the people.
The Ministry of Health assigned the Institute of Nutrition to develop and issue a Technical Guide to implementing "Ten tips for proper nutrition by 2030".
The Decision takes effect from the date of signing and replaces Decision No. 189/QD-BYT dated January 17, 2013 of the Ministry of Health promulgating "Ten tips for proper nutrition until 2020".
Limiting the use of fried foods, fast foods high in fat, salt, sugar, sugary drinks, alcohol... is one of the 10 latest nutritional advice by 2030 from the Ministry of Health.
Accordingly, the Ministry of Health's Ten Tips for Proper Nutrition by 2030 include:
- Tip #1: Eat a balanced, varied diet every day; combine foods of animal and plant origin appropriately.
- Tip #2: Eat micronutrient-rich foods daily; vegetables, tubers, and fruits of different colors. Read the nutritional information on food labels carefully before purchasing and consuming.
- Tip #3: Eat protein-rich foods in moderation; eat fish, poultry and nuts in your daily meals; eat red meat in moderation.
- Tip #4: Drink enough water every day.
- Tip #5: Pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers should follow a healthy diet; supplement iron and folic acid or multivitamins as directed.
- Tip #6: Breastfeed within the first hour of birth, exclusively breastfeed for the first 6 months; introduce appropriate complementary foods and continue breastfeeding until 24 months of age or beyond.
- Tip #7: Limit fried foods, greasy fast foods, salty foods, sugary foods, sugary drinks, and alcohol.
- Tip #8: Be safe in selecting, preparing and storing food.
- Tip #9: Organize family meals well. Eat enough meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) appropriate to your age, don't eat too much, don't skip meals.
- Tip #10: Maintain and control a healthy weight; lead an active lifestyle and increase physical activity appropriate to your age and health status.
According to the Ministry of Health, balanced and reasonable nutrition is an important factor towards comprehensive development of stature, physical and intellectual health of Vietnamese people and improving the quality of life.
Improving nutritional status is the responsibility of all levels, sectors and all people. It is necessary to strengthen inter-sectoral coordination in nutrition activities under the leadership and direction of Party committees and authorities at all levels, mobilizing the full participation of social organizations and each person.
