The Ministry of Health proposed to recall 12 types of fake milk powder nationwide.

The Food Safety Department informed that on April 23, this agency received an official dispatch from the Ministry of Public Security's Investigation Police Department requesting coordination in fighting and preventing crimes and detecting illegal acts, in which 12 food and nutritional products (in the form of powdered milk) were identified as counterfeit goods.

On the same day, the Food Safety Department issued an official dispatch requesting the Department of Health of provinces and centrally run cities; the Department of Food Safety of Ho Chi Minh City; the Food Safety Management Board of Da Nang City; the Food Safety and Hygiene Sub-Departments of provinces and cities to review, inspect and coordinate with local competent authorities to recall all 12 food and nutrition products (in the form of powdered milk) that are counterfeit goods still on the market; coordinate with the Investigation Police Agency of the Ministry of Public Security to handle and resolve according to the provisions of law.

The Food Safety Department recommends that people should not use 72 milk products under further investigation of Rance Pharma International Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company and Hacofood Pharmaceutical Nutrition Joint Stock Company until the final conclusion of the Police Agency.

The Food Safety Department requested units to continue to step up inspection, examination and handling of violations of food safety as previously directed by this agency, regarding strengthening inspection and post-inspection of fake and poor quality food.
