After 6 months of serious study in Phu Quoc Special Zone, An Giang Province, the students completed 375 lessons with content on phonetics, vocabulary, basic communication and Khmer reading comprehension skills. The final test results showed that 100% of the students met the requirements.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the training course, Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai - Deputy Commander, Chief of Staff of Coast Guard Region 4 - emphasized that in the context of increasingly high task requirements, improving foreign language skills, including Khmer, is an urgent requirement for coast guard officers and soldiers.
Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai awarded certificates to students.
According to Colonel Tran Nguyen Lai, the use of Khmer language not only serves the process of performing functions and tasks but also helps officers and soldiers of Coast Guard Region 4 strengthen their ties with people in the border and island areas in the southwest of the country, contributing to improving the effectiveness of the unit's mass mobilization work.
