In the first round, the Vietnamese men's volleyball team also won against this opponent with a similar score. Perhaps that's why they entered the game a bit subjectively this time.
At the beginning of set 1, the Vietnamese team had an advantage leading 8-2. But then coach Tran Dinh Tien's players showed signs of "loosening their grip" when they made many first-step errors. Many bad shots appeared.
Cambodia seized the opportunity, gradually narrowed the gap and then successfully equalized 17-17. From there, the two teams created a score chase. Coach Tran Dinh Tien then made a few adjustments, thanks to which the Vietnamese men's volleyball team maintained the initiative and won 25-23 in set 1.
In set 2, the Vietnamese players continued to demonstrate their attacking ability. Ngoc Thuan and Quoc Du were quality strikers, while middle blocker Thanh Hai also had an effective day. Coach Tran Dinh Tien's team won easily 25-19 in this set.
In set 3, Cambodia played with great effort and at times chased closely. The Vietnamese men's volleyball team had to use timeouts to cut the opponent's points. After that, they came back strongly, maintained the lead and won 25-21 in set 3, thereby winning 3-0 after nearly 1 and a half hours of play.
This victory will create psychological momentum for the Vietnamese team in the second round of SEA V.League 2025. In the next two days of competition, they will have to face very strong teams, Indonesia and Thailand.
