This award honors the efforts of translators selected by the Chinese Writers Association in translating Chinese literature.
Translator Nguyen Le Chi is the first Vietnamese translator to be awarded this prestigious title after more than 25 years of tireless work in the field of literary translation.

Along with her, 14 other literary translators from various countries also received this award.
The awards ceremony was held within the framework of the 7th International Conference on Translation of Chinese Literature for Sinologists, organized by the Chinese Writers Association in Nanjing from July 20-24.
This in-depth workshop on literary translation was first held in 2010 and is organized every two years, bringing together many renowned literary translators from various countries.
This year's conference revolves around the theme "Translation for the Future," bringing together 39 leading Chinese writers such as Liu Zhenyun, Dong Xi, Bi Feiyu, etc., along with 39 leading literary translators from Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, the United Kingdom, Turkey, Spain, the Netherlands, Poland, Italy, Iran, and others.
Fifteen translators received the award for their efforts in introducing Chinese literature to the world.

In an interview with Chinese media, translator Nguyen Le Chi stated: "Reading and translating wonderful stories has been my lifelong passion. Having the opportunity to translate outstanding literary works, especially Chinese literature, is a great fortune. I am grateful to the Chinese writers who have created such wonderful stories, allowing me to share and enjoy them with Vietnamese readers for over 25 years. I hope to continue my journey of discovering and finding great stories to share with readers in both China and Vietnam, becoming a literary bridge between the two countries. Sharing Vietnamese literature with China and other countries is something I always aspire to and strive to achieve."
Not long before that, translator Nguyen Le Chi was also honored with a commendation from the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, included in the list of 177 individuals who have made positive and important contributions to the development of literature and art in Ho Chi Minh City 50 years after the country's reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
