Overcome inferiority complex
“Online sales have erased geographical distances, eliminated inferiority complexes about physical differences and given more confidence to people with disabilities” - Cam Tien shared about her current job.
Born into a rural family with poor economic conditions, with two siblings, Cam Tien felt inferior because of her physical disability and did not have the conditions to continue studying, so after finishing secondary school, she dropped out of school. To help her family, she took cashew nuts to peel the silk and process at home, but her income was very low. "My height is just over 1m, I can walk but cannot move much, so I cannot sell lottery tickets or work for a living like other disabled people. I know that I am at a disadvantage in appearance, so I just dream of finding a suitable job, close to home with a salary that does not need to be high but is stable" - Cam Tien shared. And then her dream came true.
In 2023, when she learned that Mr. Do Van Phuc's Hoya Garden, right in the village, was recruiting people to help with online sales, Cam Tien boldly applied and was accepted for a trial period. "At first, I was self-conscious because I was disabled and didn't know if I could handle the job. Luckily, I received enthusiastic support from the garden owner. I learned about the types of hoya in the garden, the characteristics of each flower, and also learned how to sell on digital platforms; practiced how to talk and advise customers to make them most satisfied" - Cam Tien shared about her efforts.
After more than 1 year of selling online, Cam Tien has confidently participated in livestream sales on digital platforms such as Facebook, Zalo, TikTok and e-commerce platforms; mastering the steps of packaging seedlings in carton boxes for delivery. Cam Tien is always enthusiastic, introducing products, consulting customers, and closing orders quickly. The pots of green, vibrant hydrangeas are carefully packaged by Cam Tien, following orders to all parts of the country.

Success comes from effort and perseverance
“Don’t let inferiority complex and fear discourage you. Whether we succeed or not depends on our own strong will, effort and perseverance” - Cam Tien advised.
“Although I am disabled, I do not give up and leave my fate to chance. I am luckier than many other people because I can still hear and speak normally, and I am even more flexible in language. This is also what helps me easily adapt to my current sales job,” said Cam Tien.
For Cam Tien, the development of modern technology and digital platforms has opened new doors for people with disabilities. Smartphones, computers with the help of the internet and digital technology seem to have erased physical limitations and helped Cam Tien confidently integrate into the community, earn a stable income and above all, find joy in life every day.
Every day, Cam Tien's job is to consult, close orders, and pack orders for delivery to customers.
Mr. Do Van Phuc, owner of Phuc's Hoya Garden, said: Cam Tien is a young girl full of determination. She is very optimistic and eager to learn. Cam Tien has been working hard every day to contribute a little to the business activities of our establishment.
Cam Tien's journey is a testament to the power of perseverance and self-belief. "Despite being different, I can still do it, even do it well if I keep trying." And for that little girl, although the journey ahead is still very long, it will certainly be full of fragrant flowers and sweet fruits, which are the results of constant efforts supported by digital technology - which is present everywhere in today's life.
