Ca Mau: Large quantity of oriental medicine of unknown origin discovered

On May 26, the Market Management Department of Ca Mau province said that Market Management Team No. 1 had just drawn up a record of violations and temporarily detained all the oriental medicine of unknown origin of the TH Traditional Medicine Standardization and Treatment Room Business Household (Ward 2, Ca Mau City) for investigation, verification and handling according to legal regulations.

Previously, on May 24, the authorities conducted a surprise inspection of the above facility and discovered 257 units of products including boxes, bottles, and blister packs of various types of oriental medicine without invoices or documents proving their legality and with unknown origins.

The inspection is part of a high-point period implemented in accordance with the Prime Minister's telegram and the direction of the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province on strengthening the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods. Accordingly, the authorities will focus on inspecting key items, items with signs of violations, causing public outrage, especially items related to medicine and public health.

The Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province requested sectors and localities to do a good job in emulation work, promptly commend and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements; at the same time, strictly handle violations, including acts of covering up and abetting violations.
