- As someone who sings many revolutionary songs, how do you feel about the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification?

If there was no April 30, 1975, there would certainly be no Trong Tan today. My father was a special forces soldier, participating in the battlefield and only returning after the country was unified. I was born in 1976, after my father had completed his mission. Therefore, the day the country was unified was also the day my life began and every year around April 30, I feel an indescribable feeling of joy and happiness.

- In previous years, April 30th was often the time when Trong Tan - Dang Duong - Viet Hoan were crowned because their shows were packed. However, recently, other faces have appeared who are also in high demand for festival shows like Tung Duong. Can the audience expect a transformation from Trong Tan or does he still choose safety?

Tung Duong and I are different. Duong is someone who has always reached out to the public with new works from the beginning until now, while I am almost stuck with the public with this music genre. Therefore, I only play around by making some pop ballads or collaborating with other artists in a show.

Tung Duong's music has an entertaining element, but for me it is very difficult, it must be something impressive, for example, to create a work that can be played with a symphony orchestra, only a few people can do it like musicians Tran Manh Hung, Do Bao, Hoai Sa, Duc Tri. It is also possible to write a song about homeland, country, love but it must have a high literary level.

- Looking back on his career, it seems Trong Tan is very lucky, everything went smoothly as he wished...

I found many things favorable and the important thing is that the journey was well received by the public, the songs were well received by the audience. After Tieng Dan Bau , I felt this very clearly. Of course, it was not always favorable because during the process of working, there were times when I had difficulties, wondering whether I should follow this path or renew myself.

The tight schedule makes me exhausted sometimes.

- So what was your most difficult moment?

That is why I had to decide to stop working at the Vietnam National Academy of Music. Of course, I still support the students at home, but I was worried about leaving a place full of gratitude, where I grew up. I wondered for a long time whether I should go in two directions or one direction. I still had a passion for this profession, so I didn't want to put too much pressure on myself.

Teaching is extremely stressful, the responsibility towards the students, how to complete the curriculum, motivate them while the performance schedule is so tight that sometimes I am exhausted. Now I feel fine and stopping at the National Academy of Music was the right thing to do. Now I am back to teaching, helping the Conservatory comfortably, according to my ability. In the past, I had to take on the right responsibilities, for example, meeting the required number of teaching hours.

I still sing regularly, but to completely renew works like the music in the show Anh trai vuon ngan cong gai is not easy, there must be a supporting team behind.

- If there is an invitation from the show "Anh trai vu ngan cong gai" next season, what do you think?

I am very willing to participate.

I'm afraid of my wife.

- The audience looks at Trong Tan and sees that he seems to lack nothing. A good wife, obedient children are the dreams of many people, so what else do you hope for in your music career?

Of course, those conquests are fate, who knows, I might be invited to more unique projects. I think for someone who has the public's love for this image, to do something new is still a walk in the park, people still love my nature. I'm also getting old, I can't keep doing new things forever.

Trong Tan, Dang Duong and Viet Hoan will reunite in the program "A Country Full of Joy" at the Vietnam-Soviet Friendship Cultural Palace in Hanoi on the evening of May 24.

- A few years ago, singer Dang Duong said that red music artists cannot be as rich as other music genres, but for you it seems to be an exception?

I don't think anything because it is each person's fate and that cannot be measured by art.

- Do you ever feel lost because you sing too many familiar red songs?

Depending on the event, there are events that are well prepared, which makes me feel responsible for the show. On the contrary, unprofessional events make it difficult for me to feel my heart and soul.

- Is Trong Tan afraid of his wife at home?

Yes, I'm scared (laughs). Because she's mine, I'm scared of the person who "cuts my rice" instead of the neighbor.

- How do you support your children when they pursue art?

My children are very good at music, I just inspire, encourage and support them in terms of technique and experience. Regarding their path, I do not force them. They have not said anything about the pressures of pursuing this career. My son is currently studying at the Vietnam National Academy of Music and occasionally performs. He likes pop music and composing.
