Since Meta (Facebook's parent company) acquired WhatsApp, the app has been receiving regular updates that focus on user experience. Recently, the OTT software has added a new option that is considered useful.
Accordingly, the program will automatically turn off call notifications (via WhatsApp) from phone numbers not in the contact list. The new option is available for all accounts to prevent calls from being harassed, scammed or disturbed by unknown subscribers.
WhatsApp has been constantly updating new features in recent months.
Users can enable the new option by going into the app, tapping Settings > Privacy > Calls . All calls from unknown numbers will have notifications turned off but will still be displayed in the Calls category so that the account owner can check and respond if they recognize a familiar phone number or in case they need to contact again.
In addition to adding the ability to turn off notifications of calls from unknown numbers, WhatsApp also introduced a Privacy Checkup feature, which guides users step by step through important steps to customize the level of protection of their personal information on the application. WhatsApp users select Start checkup in the Privacy settings to perform steps at different levels to enhance the security of messages, calls, and personal information.
The new changes are available in the latest version of WhatsApp on mobile devices. Users need to go to the app store on their device (iOS or Android) to update the program to the latest version.
