Scottie Scheffler's form helped Ted Scott 'make a lot of money'. |
World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler is enjoying a dream season and he is not the only one reaping the rewards of his form. His quiet but indispensable companion, caddie Ted Scott, is also enjoying a truly lucrative season.
In May alone, Scheffler won three major events: the AT&T Byron Nelson, the PGA Championship (his third major title), and the Memorial Tournament, which ended last weekend. In the remaining tournament, the Charles Schwab Challenge, Scheffler finished T4 and raised his total prize money in less than 30 days to $9.629 million.
With the common bonus ratio in golf where caddies receive about 10% of the golfer’s bonus, Ted Scott “pocketed” up to 963,000 USD in just 1 month. This number is enough to make many professional golfers dream.

Caddie "surpasses" a series of big stars
In May, Scott earned more money than five golfers in the top 10 of the PGA Tour's money rankings, including Rory McIlroy (played two events), Russell Henley, Collin Morikawa, Andrew Novak and Ludvig Åberg.
In addition to the top 10, Scott's May earnings also surpassed former major champions like Hideki Matsuyama and Justin Rose.
Even more astonishing, if you consider Ted Scott as an individual golfer, his huge earnings in May have propelled him to 90th place on the PGA Tour money list this season.
That position would put him just behind the likes of Will Zalatoris and Tom Kim, but still ahead of Sam Ryder, Joel Dahmen, Max Homa and Sahith Theegala.
This season, Scheffler has earned a total of $13.9 million from PGA Tour events, giving Scott total earnings of about $1.397 million.

Money making opportunities are still ahead.
Scottie Scheffler will not play in this weekend's RBC Canadian Open at TPC Toronto (Osprey Valley). Instead, the world No. 1 will take time off to rest and prepare for the US Open at Oakmont Country Club - considered the toughest major of the year.
He will then play in the Travelers Championship, the final event in the PGA Tour’s Signature Event series this year, with a whopping $20 million purse. Last year, Scheffler won the title after a thrilling playoff with Tom Kim.
Scheffler is scheduled to compete in the Rocket Mortgage Classic at Detroit Golf Club at the end of June, which promises to continue to bring in huge rewards for both him and his partner Ted Scott.
