On the afternoon of June 6, comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, and a working delegation of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee worked with District 5 on the socio -economic situation in the first 5 months of 2025 and resolved the district's recommendations.

At the meeting, District 5 People's Committee proposed that Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approve the policy of using the land at 203 An Duong Vuong to build a new primary school.
The district also proposed compensation, support, and resettlement for households at apartment building 440 Tran Hung Dao (Ward 11) - a class D apartment building at risk of collapse that has been urgently evacuated since 2023, but to date there is still no compensation plan.

District 5 also proposed that the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee hand over land plot No. 1-3 Chau Van Liem (Ward 14) to Cho Lon Ward to manage and continue implementing the project to renovate and expand the exhibition area of Uncle Ho's Memorial House (National historical site No. 5 Chau Van Liem).


Concluding the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc requested the People's Committee of District 5 to report all public assets under its management to the Department of Finance before June 30. The review aims to ensure that public assets are used for the right purposes. Assets that are no longer in use will be auctioned to create capital for reinvestment.
The Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee also noted the need to count, classify and evaluate the purposes of using old ward headquarters that are no longer in use after the rearrangement, in order to have appropriate handling plans.

Regarding the recommendations of District 5, comrade Nguyen Van Duoc basically agreed; including the proposal to build two new headquarters of Cho Quan and Cho Lon wards.
He requested relevant departments and branches to review the planning of these areas to assess their suitability to usage needs, ensuring compliance with legal regulations.
Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc also requested to arrange the ward police headquarters in a centralized manner, not spread out, ensuring appropriate functions and areas to effectively organize the force.

Comrade Nguyen Van Duoc emphasized the determination of Ho Chi Minh City in renovating seriously degraded old apartment buildings and said that District 5 could be a model locality. The goal is to replace all old apartment buildings, build new modern apartments, in accordance with planning, and especially ensure resettlement places for people.
Regarding the method, the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee suggested that District 5 proactively seek a capable investor to renovate old apartment buildings throughout the area instead of dividing and spreading them across many units.
He also requested relevant departments and branches to create maximum conditions for the district to implement the renovation project, create conditions for investors to rebuild the apartment buildings, comply with legal regulations and be suitable for practical implementation.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Nguyen Van Duoc requested that from now until July 1, District 5 complete the arrangement of temporary working headquarters after the merger; fully prepare machinery and equipment, and arrange them reasonably at the new headquarters; ensure uninterrupted service to people and businesses during the transition period.
