Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee offers incense at national historical sites in District 5

On the afternoon of June 6, after a working session with District 5 on the socio-economic situation, comrade Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, visited and offered incense and flowers at two national historical sites in the area.

At house number 5 Chau Van Liem - where President Ho Chi Minh stayed before boarding the ship to find a way to save the country - comrade Nguyen Van Duoc and the delegation offered incense, flowers, and held a moment of silence, expressing their respect and deep gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh. This location used to be the base of the Lien Thanh Trading House, where he temporarily stayed from September 1910 to June 1911 before leaving Nha Rong port. The relic was recognized as a national relic in 1988.

Next, the delegation offered incense and flowers at the statue of Comrade Tran Phu - the first General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam - in the grounds of the Cho Quan Hospital Prison (now the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases). Here, the delegation observed a moment of silence to commemorate the great contributions of Comrade Tran Phu and the heroic martyrs.

Before passing away on September 6, 1931 at Cho Quan Hospital Prison, comrade Tran Phu left behind the immortal saying: "Keep your fighting spirit" . This prison was recognized as a national historical and cultural relic in 1988.
