As soon as he stepped out of the gate, a candidate burst into tears and hugged his mother. His mother continuously patted his shoulder, comforted him, and encouraged him for doing his best.

Ms. Tran Hoai Thu said that when she saw her children from afar, tears welled up in her eyes because she felt so sorry and worried for them. "During their studies, the children had to work very hard to compete for each place in public schools. Throughout that process, the family had to skillfully encourage them so that they would not feel pressured. Therefore, no matter what the result is, I am very proud of my children," Ms. Thu shared.
Along with the emotional tears of the candidates and their parents, there were also satisfied smiles of happiness. At the exam site of Tran Phu High School, candidates rushed out amid the cheers and encouragement of volunteers and their parents.
Many children walked out of the gate to their parents who were waiting and hugging them.
Ms. Nguyen Bich Hang, mother of the two candidates Gia Bach and Ha Bach, bought flowers very early and anxiously waited for her two sons to finish their final exam. When she saw that both boys passed the test, her whole family burst into happiness.
Joy was also the common feeling of many candidates at the Phan Dinh Phung High School exam site. Most of them said they were able to answer most of the questions in the test, except for one question in the Math test that was somewhat "difficult".
A female parent excitedly took a photo of the whole family after her child finished the math test. “My children did well on the test, but I encouraged them to relax because we were just testing ourselves,” she said.
At the exam site of Nguyen Trai High School - Ba Dinh, candidates walked and skipped, cheering loudly after finishing the last exam of the entrance exam to grade 10 in Hanoi .
High-fiving his father and boasting "I did very well on my test", Quoc Lam said his wish this year is to get into Nguyen Trai High School - Ba Dinh.
Math is also the last subject of the general entrance exam for grade 10 in Hanoi. For those who wish to take the exam for specialized classes, candidates will have to complete an additional specialized subject exam on June 9.
