Hoi An Old Town is flooded again; residents are busy raising their belongings to higher ground.

On November 17th, the water level of the Hoai River in Hoi An ward (Da Nang city) rose rapidly, causing many riverside roads to be deeply flooded, significantly affecting the daily lives and business activities of residents and small traders.

Observations at the scene showed knee-deep water in some low-lying sections of the road, forcing many businesses to urgently elevate their belongings and move goods to safer locations. Some vendors said that the water had only reached the edge of their porches that morning, but by noon it had risen rapidly, forcing them to react quickly.

Ms. Hoang Thi Khanh Ly (residing in Hoi An ward) said this was the third time floodwater had entered her house since the end of October. "Although the water level this time wasn't as high as the recent historic flood, my husband and I didn't dare be complacent and quickly moved all our belongings to higher ground early this morning," Ms. Ly shared.
