Au Trieu beef noodle soup

Having been named in the Bib Gourmand 2024 list, it is not surprising that Pho Bo Au Trieu continues to be honored by Michelin this year. Although it only has a small space with a few simple tables and chairs placed on the sidewalk, the restaurant is always crowded thanks to its distinctive flavors and unique cooking methods.

Unlike many other places, the broth here is slightly cloudy and has a rich, attractive flavor. Instead of using familiar spices such as cinnamon and star anise, the restaurant chooses fish sauce and grilled ginger to create a rich, unique flavor. The beef is always fresh, often pounded and thinly sliced before pouring the boiling broth over to preserve its natural sweetness.

The price of each bowl of pho ranges from 55,000 to 65,000 VND - a reasonable price compared to the general price level in Hanoi.

Cham Chicken Pho

Located on Yen Ninh Street (Ba Dinh District), Pho Ga Cham makes an impression at first sight. Entering the restaurant, diners will easily notice the stainless steel table filled with trays of meat that are carefully classified: white meat, thighs, chicken wings, young eggs, gizzards, liver...

The broth here has a natural sweetness, not greasy. The rice noodles are cut by hand instead of by machine, so they are soft and easy to break but do not contain preservatives, ensuring hygiene and safety for health. The chicken is cut into moderately thick, even pieces, keeping the firmness, sweetness of the meat and the golden, slightly crispy skin.

Each bowl of pho costs from 75,000 to 160,000 VND. If you order additional parts such as thighs, wings or eggs, you will have to spend up to 200,000 VND per serving. This is one of the traditional-style chicken pho restaurants with high prices in Hanoi, mainly serving office workers and civil servants with stable incomes.
