Journalist To Dinh Tuan and his 30-year mark in the profession

Marking 30 years in the profession, journalist To Dinh Tuan, Editor-in-Chief of the Lao Dong Newspaper, has collected and selected his articles into the publication "30 Years of Journalism" (Ho Chi Minh City General Publishing House).

On the morning of June 8, at Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association coordinated with the Lao Dong Newspaper to organize an exchange program and introduce the publication "30 Years of Journalism" by journalist To Dinh Tuan.

The publication "30 years of journalism" by journalist To Dinh Tuan has special significance not only for the author but also as a valuable source of documents for young journalists.

The 30-year mark of journalism , nearly 400 pages thick, is the crystallization of the journey of relentless dedication in journalism of journalist To Dinh Tuan.

With 5 parts of rich content, the book not only realistically depicts career milestones but is also a vivid slice of the transformation of Vietnamese journalism in the digital age.

And, not only a professional memoir, the book is also a sincere gratitude to colleagues, readers and hometown, the supports that have nurtured, supported and inspired the author on his journey as a journalist.

Sharing at the program, journalist To Dinh Tuan recalled his journey of tireless dedication to writing, from when he was a journalism student, then a collaborator, an intern reporter, becoming an official reporter for Saigon Giai Phong Newspaper... to holding the position of Editor-in-Chief at Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.

In any position, what is easily seen in journalist To Dinh Tuan is his spirit, responsibility and dedication to his profession. Over the past 30 years, his articles have been written with his heart and love for his profession.

Comrade Than Thi Thu, former Head of the Propaganda Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, recalled the memories of journalist To Dinh Tuan's early days in journalism.

“Just working diligently like that, working, studying, researching, teaching, 30 years have passed in a flash. To be honest, during that time, there were times when I felt discouraged, but that’s not true. But thinking back, I have to try harder because there are many people who are better than me, who try harder than me,” journalist To Dinh Tuan expressed.

He said that the 30-year mark of journalism is meant to be preserved as a result of his work to celebrate 30 years in the profession.

"The book may not mean anything to big journalists, but it will be meaningful to young journalists, as a reference on their career path," he said.

Journalist Nguyen Tan Phong, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association, said that in the context of many important events of the country and the city, the book has inspired the team of reporters, especially young reporters and editors.

“I find this a very meaningful work. Therefore, the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association has decided to accompany Mr. To Dinh Tuan in this event,” said journalist Nguyen Tan Phong.

With deep affection for life and people, journalist To Dinh Tuan decided to dedicate all profits from the 30-year imprint of journalism to the program "Wings of Love", to show gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers; to give scholarships to poor and disabled students who overcome difficulties; to support emergency patients who have no money to pay...
