Referring to the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus at the December 2024 working conference, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra reiterated the viewpoint of General Secretary To Lam, affirming that streamlining the organizational apparatus of the political system is a very urgent issue that must be done immediately.

The Minister of Home Affairs said that streamlining the apparatus is not only a matter of scale or quantity, but more deeply, it must create qualitative changes in the operations of the political system.

Streamlining the organizational apparatus goes hand in hand with streamlining the payroll and restructuring the team of qualified and capable staff.

According to Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, streamlining does not mean mechanically cutting down, but eliminating unnecessary positions and reducing ineffective work. From there, resources are focused on key areas and on truly worthy and suitable people.

The female Minister said that the timelines have been set out very specifically by the Central Government. In particular, the Ministry of Home Affairs plays an advisory role to the Central Steering Committee as well as the Government Steering Committee on the reorganization of the Government apparatus.

The arrangement of the state administrative block will be the premise for the Ministry of Home Affairs to continue to advise and guide the arrangement of the administrative apparatus of local governments.

"This is the most difficult and complicated task, but also a very important responsibility that the Ministry of Home Affairs is honored to be assigned by the Politburo, the Party Central Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister," said Ms. Tra.

She requested that the heads of units under and directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs from now on proactively do a good job of propaganda work, unify ideology and awareness in the entire unit, and be determined to join hands and unite to complete the assigned tasks well.

"Delay is a mistake to the people", emphasizing this, the Minister of Home Affairs affirmed that in that process, it is certain that individual cadres, party members, civil servants, public employees, and workers in the Ministry of Home Affairs must make sacrifices and suffer disadvantages to contribute to the great cause of the Ministry and the home affairs sector.

"If necessary, I will work overtime, on Saturdays and Sundays to complete assigned tasks with the best quality. I will happily comply with the organization's assignments and decisions, and be ready to go to war and win, for the goal of developing the country to become rich and strong in the new era," said the female Minister.

Regarding December's tasks, the Minister of Home Affairs requested units to focus highly and urgently complete all tasks assigned by competent authorities in 2024.

Besides, according to Ms. Tra, it is necessary to quantify the work that needs to be completed to assign work scientifically, clearly defining people, tasks, products, and responsibilities from the heads of units to each civil servant, public employee, and worker.

Heads of units are responsible to the Minister and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs for the progress, quality and results of performing tasks assigned by competent authorities.
