Referring to the policy of streamlining the organizational apparatus at the December 2024 working conference, Minister of Home Affairs Pham Thi Thanh Tra reiterated the viewpoint of General Secretary To Lam, affirming that streamlining the organizational apparatus of the political system is a very urgent issue that must be done immediately.

The Minister of Home Affairs believes that streamlining the apparatus is not just a matter of scale or quantity, but more deeply, it is necessary to create qualitative changes in the operations of the political system.
Streamlining the organizational apparatus goes hand in hand with streamlining the payroll and restructuring the staff with sufficient qualities and capabilities.
According to Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra, streamlining does not mean mechanically cutting down, but eliminating unnecessary positions and reducing ineffective work. From there, resources are focused on key areas and on truly worthy and suitable people.
The female Minister said that the timelines have been set very specifically by the Central Government. In particular, the Ministry of Home Affairs plays an advisory role to the Central Steering Committee as well as the Government Steering Committee on the organization and apparatus of the Government .
The arrangement of the state administrative block will be the premise for the Ministry of Home Affairs to continue advising and guiding the arrangement of the administrative apparatus of local governments.
"This is the most difficult and complicated task, but it is also a very important responsibility that the Ministry of Home Affairs is honored to be assigned by the Politburo, the Party Central Committee, the Government, and the Prime Minister," said Ms. Tra.
She requested that the heads of units under and directly under the Ministry of Home Affairs from now on proactively do a good job of propaganda, unify ideology and awareness in the entire unit, and be determined to join hands and unite to complete the assigned tasks well.

Regarding the tasks of December, the Minister of Home Affairs requested units to focus highly and urgently complete all tasks assigned by competent authorities in 2024.
Besides, according to Ms. Tra, it is necessary to quantify the work that needs to be completed in order to assign work scientifically, clearly define people, tasks, products, and responsibilities from the heads of units to each civil servant, public employee, and worker.
Heads of units are responsible to the Minister and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs for the progress, quality and results of performing tasks assigned by competent authorities.
