Close-up of the 'big crack' dike that has just been declared a state of emergency in Quoc Oai district

TPO - The City People's Committee has just announced an emergency situation of a cracked left dike from K23+480 to K23+530 in Ngoc Liep commune, Quoc Oai district. This incident threatens traffic and people's safety.

Accordingly, the crack location on the left dike from K23+480 to K23+530 (Ngoc Liep commune) is about 50m long, 5cm wide, and about 60cm deep.

Mr. Nguyen Van Nghia, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ngoc Liep Commune, said that the incident of cracks on the left dike of Tich in Quoc Oai district in terms of width, depth and length during storm No. 3 and the floods after the storm, caused a risk of insecurity for the left dike of Tich in the commune.

Along the left dike in Ngoc Liep commune, there are many locations on the dike surface with deep cracks.

Mr. Nghia said that currently people and vehicles under 10 tons are still allowed to move on the dike.

Faced with the deterioration of the left-hand dike, the City People's Committee requested the People's Committee of Quoc Oai district to update and supplement solutions to handle dike cracks in the project to upgrade and expand the left-hand dike combined with the traffic route from the border of Thach That district to DH2 (Quoc Oai district) invested by the District People's Committee.

It is known that the project to upgrade and expand the Ta Tich dike combined with the traffic road of Quoc Oai district has a total investment of 135 billion VND. The upgraded Ta Tich dike has a total length of about 10.3km.
