
Currently, Soc Trang province has press agencies such as Soc Trang Newspaper and Radio - Television Station, along with 2 representative offices of central press agencies, 18 resident reporters and more than 40 reporters registered to work locally.
Over the past time, press activities in the province have strictly followed the principles and purposes, strictly implemented the leadership and direction of the Party and the State. Press agencies have promptly, honestly and comprehensively reflected the fields of life, economy , culture - society, national defense - security. Representative offices and resident reporters have promoted their role as information bridges, accompanying localities in social security activities.
At the seminar, experts and press agencies presented the results of state management in the field of revolutionary journalism in recent times; analyzed the development trends of modern journalism in the new period, as well as solutions to improve propaganda effectiveness, especially in protecting the Party's ideological foundation.
Delegates also focused on discussing many topical issues such as: strengthening connections in journalism activities; dealing with competitive challenges from social networks; applying information technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to journalism; and proposing to build appropriate mechanisms and policies to support the development of modern journalism.
Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Pham Van Dau, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Soc Trang province, emphasized: “In the context of rapid development of information technology, revolutionary journalism is facing both opportunities and challenges. The trend of media convergence and digitalization requires innovation in content, form and methods of information transmission, in order to increase interaction and improve the effectiveness of public access. Therefore, perfecting mechanisms and policies is extremely necessary to create a modern, healthy and sustainable press development environment, meeting the increasing demands of society and readers."
