My Tho Cruise Port Recognized as a Typical Tourist Destination of the Mekong Delta in 2024

In Can Tho City, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association (MDTA) organized the ceremony to award the decision to recognize and re-recognize typical tourist destinations in the MDTA in 2024. Among the tourist destinations recognized this time is My Tho Cruise Port (Ward 4, My Tho City, Tien Giang Province).

Ms. Luong Thi Diem Trang - Director of My Tho Port Joint Stock Company received the decision and recognition board of typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta in 2024.

My Tho Cruise Port officially came into operation on January 1, 2021. With a total investment of 665 billion VND, a main wharf of ^1,217.8m2 , a main terminal of ^5,960.08m2 , a riverside park and yard ^of 4,108.32m2, a total capacity of about 4,000 passengers/day, including 06 passenger ships on the My Tho - Cambodia route/day and 10 high-speed boats picking up and dropping off passengers at the same time and small tourist boats, My Tho Cruise Port is considered the largest cruise port in the Mekong Delta region.

My Tho Marina Port is allowed to receive domestic and foreign watercraft with a maximum capacity of up to 120 passengers.

In addition to being a place to anchor vehicles, passenger ships, tourist boats, yachts, floating restaurants, a place for visitors to get on and off, and entertainment on the Tien River, My Tho Cruise Port is also effectively exploiting the tourist route along the Tien River connecting to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Accordingly, cruise ships will depart from My Tho city, go along the Tien River to Cai Be district (Tien Giang), connect to Vinh Long and Dong Thap provinces and stop at An Giang before going to Cambodia.

Every year, My Tho Marina welcomes more than 250,000 tourists to visit, experience and use tourism services. Currently, this place is one of the destinations attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists, creating a "highlight" in the development of tourism in Tien Giang province.

Also on this occasion, in addition to My Tho Cruise Port (Tien Giang), the Mekong Delta Tourism Association also awarded the decision and the recognition board as a typical tourist destination in the Mekong Delta in 2024 to Con Ho Community-based Ecotourism Site (Tra Vinh); Khmer Ethnic Culture Museum (Tra Vinh) and Tuc Dup Hill Tourist Site (An Giang).

So far, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association has recognized 53 typical tourist destinations in the Mekong Delta, contributing to creating momentum for sustainable tourism development./.
