On June 22, Israeli emergency services said about 10 locations were hit by Iranian missiles, including in Tel Aviv, Carmel and Haifa, where no sirens were reportedly heard.

Rescue teams continue to search and rescue at the affected sites. Several buildings in Tel Aviv have been severely damaged.

According to the Magen David Adom Emergency Services Agency (MDA), 11 people were injured in the airstrikes.

In response, the Israeli military is also carrying out a wave of attacks on military targets in western Iran. This is the first Israeli air strike since the US attacked Iran's nuclear facilities.

According to an Israeli military spokesman, the Israeli Air Force also attacked Iranian missile launchers preparing to launch, quickly disabling the launchers that had fired missiles towards Israeli territory. Soldiers of the Iranian Armed Forces were also a target.

Iran's foreign minister warns of retaliation

Posting on social network X, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that US attacks on the country's nuclear facilities "will have permanent consequences" and Tehran "reserves all options" to retaliate.

This is the first comment from senior Iranian officials about the US airstrikes on three Iranian facilities in Isfahan, Fordow and Natanz on the evening of June 21.

Meanwhile, Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations Amir Saeid Iravani sent a letter requesting an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council, calling on the organization to condemn the US attacks.

The Iranian ambassador called the US attack a serious threat to regional and international peace and security. He confirmed details of the attack on the three nuclear facilities.

Latin American countries condemn attack, call for dialogue

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel has condemned the US airstrikes, warning that they could escalate conflict in the region. According to Díaz-Canel, the action is a serious violation of the UN Charter and international law, and is plunging humanity into a crisis with irreversible consequences.

Condemning the attack, Chilean President Gabriel Boric stressed the need for peace.

Venezuela's Foreign Ministry condemned what it called "an act of military aggression against Iran." Colombia's Foreign Ministry called on all parties to resume negotiations, as the only responsible and lasting way out of the current crisis.

According to the Mexican Foreign Ministry, peaceful coexistence between countries in the region remains a top priority.

US: Democrats call on Senate to enforce War Powers Act

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer called on Senate Republican leader John Thune to invoke the War Powers Act and bring it to the Senate "immediately."

President Donald Trump must provide the American people and Congress with clear answers about the actions he took on the night of June 21 and their impact on the safety of Americans, Schumer said. No president should be allowed to unilaterally lead the country into a situation that could result in war, with erratic threats and no strategy. The risk of a larger, longer, more destructive war has now increased significantly, he said.

Democratic Senator Jack Reed, ranking member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, called for an immediate congressional briefing “to ensure the American people get the truth and the answers they deserve.” Mr Reed said Mr Trump’s move was “a huge gamble” and no one knew whether it would pay off.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin also called for a press conference with Congress. Mr. Martin stressed that Americans do not want a president who ignores the Constitution and drags them into war without the approval of Congress.

Meanwhile, New York Democratic Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raised the prospect of impeachment, saying the president’s decision to bomb Iran without authorization was a serious violation of the Constitution and Congress’s War Powers. According to her, Mr. Trump risked starting a war that could entangle the US for generations.

Hamas condemns US "aggression"

“The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) strongly condemns the blatant US aggression against the territory and sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran ,” Hamas’s condemnation came after Mr Trump’s announcement that the US had joined Israel’s bombing campaign against Iran.

Hamas said the above action was a dangerous escalation, calling the attack "a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to international peace and security."

Israel's future military action in Iran will depend on how Tehran responds to US strikes on its nuclear facilities, a source familiar with the matter said.

It remains unclear whether Israel will continue airstrikes on Iran following the major US strikes on Iran’s three nuclear facilities at Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz. Israeli officials have said the main goal of their bombing campaign is to dismantle Iran’s nuclear program, but senior Israeli officials have increasingly said they are aiming to topple the Iranian regime.

Israeli officials have long prepared for possible Iranian retaliation if the United States launches attacks on the country's nuclear facilities.

US steps up efforts to evacuate citizens from Israel

The US is increasing flights to evacuate US citizens from Israel to Europe and continuing to reduce staff at diplomatic missions in Iraq due to concerns about Iran's retaliation against US interests in the Middle East, especially after the US Air Force attacked three of the country's nuclear facilities on the evening of June 21.

According to AP, 67 US citizens left Israel on two government flights to Athens, Greece on June 21 and four more evacuation flights to Athens are planned for June 22.

Israel closes airspace

AP quoted the Israel Airports Authority as saying that Israeli airspace will be closed to all incoming and outgoing flights. The reason for the suspension of air operations is “due to recent developments” (specifically the latest US military intervention in Iran). However, the agency did not specify how long the airspace closure would last.

Iran says attacks caused no nuclear contamination

Early on the morning of June 22 (local time), Iran said there were "no signs of contamination" at its nuclear facilities in Isfahan, Fordow and Natanz after US airstrikes targeted these facilities.

Iran's state media quoted the National Nuclear Safety System Center as saying its radiation detectors had not detected any radiation leaks after the airstrikes. The statement added: "There is no danger to residents living around the sites."

Through the X social platform, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) sent a message that there was no increase in radiation levels outside these three facilities and would provide assessments of the situation in Iran when more information became available.

According to the IAEA, previous Israeli airstrikes on Iranian nuclear facilities also did not cause any release of radioactive material into the environment around these facilities.

On the same day, Manan Raeisi, an Iranian lawmaker representing the holy city of Qom near the Fordow nuclear site, said that the US Air Force strike did not cause serious damage to the facility. He told the Fars news agency that most of the affected areas were above ground and could be fully restored. This statement contradicted the US President's statement that "Iran's important nuclear enrichment facilities have been completely destroyed."
