Heavy rain warning in Thanh Hoa area, concentrated on August 25

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - From this afternoon (August 24) to the morning of August 26, Thanh Hoa province will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms. Heavy rain will be concentrated on the day and night of August 25.

According to information from the Thanh Hoa Province Hydrometeorological Station, due to the influence of the tropical convergence zone with an axis through the North Central region connecting to the center of storm No. 5 combined with high-altitude wind convergence, from this afternoon (August 24) to the morning of August 26, Thanh Hoa province will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain and thunderstorms.

Rainfall in coastal plains and mountainous areas in the West and Southwest is generally from 150 - 300mm, with some places over 350mm. In mountainous areas in the North and Northwest, rainfall is generally from 100 - 200mm, with some places over 200mm.

Heavy rain will be concentrated during the day and night of August 25 and there is a warning of the risk of heavy rain (>200mm/6h). Thunderstorms are likely to cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Northern and Northwestern mountainous areas including forecast locations: Muong Lat, Quan Son, Hoi Xuan, Thiet Ong, Cam Thuy, Kim Tan): From the afternoon of August 24 to the morning of August 26, rainfall is from 100 - 200mm, some places over 200mm.

The western and southwestern mountainous areas include the forecast locations: Linh Son, Ngoc Lac, Thuong Xuan, Lam Son, Nhu Xuan, Nhu Thanh: From the afternoon of August 24 to the morning of August 26, rainfall is from 150 - 300mm, in some places over 350mm.

Coastal plains include forecast locations: Vinh Loc, Yen Dinh, Ha Trung, Bim Son, Nga Son, Hau Loc, Hoang Hoa, Thieu Hoa, Trieu Son, Nong Cong, Nghi Son, Quang Chinh, Hac Thanh, Sam Son: From the afternoon of August 24 to the morning of August 26, rainfall is from 150 - 300mm, some places over 350mm.

Warning: From the afternoon of August 26 to the morning of August 27, Thanh Hoa area will continue to have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms in some places. Rainfall is generally from 10 - 30mm, in some places over 50mm.
