On the afternoon of December 1, at the hall of the People's Committee of Thien Cam commune, the Department of Agriculture and Environment held a conference to propagate the plan to exploit Cua Nhuong fishing port for fishermen in coastal localities: Cam Trung, Yen Hoa, Ky Xuan and Thien Cam.

At the conference, the Management Board of the Agricultural and Rural Development Construction Investment Project - the representative of the investor of Cua Nhuong Fishing Port construction reported on the access route to the port and the installation of buoys on the route. Accordingly, the route connecting from the national inland waterway of Rao Cai - Gia Hoi River to the project area has a length of 392m. The water area in front of the port is designed to have an area of ​​over 11 hectares, ensuring the criteria of a type 2 fishing port according to the Fisheries Law.

The conference also disseminated the Fisheries Law and regulations related to the management of fishing ports and fishing vessels arriving and departing from ports. Thereby, helping people raise awareness of the importance of responsible fishing, contributing to the protection of sustainable fishery resources and avoiding violations that could lead to penalties or affect national reputation.

At the conference, fishermen made many recommendations and suggestions to ensure the most effective exploitation of the fishing port. The biggest concern focused on the issue of waterways. Fishermen expressed concern about the depth of the waterway connecting to the port, especially during low tides or when large fishing vessels enter and exit.

People requested that all levels review, measure depth and have a plan to periodically dredge the channel to ensure absolute safety for ships and boats, avoid the risk of running aground; install additional lights to facilitate ships and boats entering and docking at the port.

Cua Nhuong fishing port has an investment of 280 billion VND, built on a land area of ​​5 hectares, meeting the scale of a level II fishing port with 400CV capacity ships docking, docking capacity of 100 ships/day, the amount of aquatic products passing through the port is about 16,000 tons/year.

Along with the wharf for ships from 150-400CV, the port also invested in items such as a seafood receiving yard with an area of ​​2,400m2 ^; dredging the port channel and the water area in front of the port; inland waterway signaling system; embankment, sand-prevention dike, and internal roads in the port.

Instruct fishermen to use fishing ports to dock to unload seafood, provide fishing logistics services and anchor boats in accordance with regulations. Require fishing boat owners to strictly comply with regulations on entering ports to unload products, control IUU fishing and ensure security, safety and environmental sanitation in the port area...

For the Management Board of Fishing Ports and Fishing Boat Storm Shelters of the province, it is necessary to organize the management and operation of the port in accordance with its functions, provide adequate fishing logistics services, ensure quality and prices according to regulations. Regularly check the technical parameters of the port, ensure fishing vessels enter and exit the port safely, and at the same time develop a plan for maintenance and repair of the project. Implement management of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port to load and unload products, control 100% of aquatic product output at the port and trace the origin of exploited aquatic products.
