Hai Phong Waterway Police Teach Children Free Swimming Lessons

On July 28, the leader of the Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police said that the unit is implementing a plan to teach free swimming to disadvantaged children in the city.

As planned, Bach Dang Waterway Police Station (Traffic Police Department - Hai Phong City Police) opened the first free swimming class in Nam Trieu commune.

Lieutenant Colonel Ngo Minh Tue, Head of Bach Dang Waterway Police Station, said that propaganda, education and prevention of drowning accidents in children is always one of the contents that the unit pays special attention to.

The activity to equip children with practical life skills and spread the message of the whole society's cooperation in protecting children by Hai Phong City Police has become an annual task of the Traffic Police Department during the summer vacation of students in the area every year.

Free swimming class for children of Bach Dang Waterway Police Station (Hai Phong City).

This year, Bach Dang Waterway Police Station coordinated with the Youth Union and Nam Trieu Commune Police (Hai Phong City) to open a free swimming class and drowning prevention skills for 40 disadvantaged children in the commune.

From experiences in the process of performing professional tasks, Bach Dang Waterway Police Station has compiled a basic, accessible, easy-to-implement and practically applicable curriculum to convey to children.

Specifically, children are taught basic swimming skills, how to handle situations when encountering accidents underwater, self-rescue skills, drowning prevention, and then advanced swimming skills.

Children are instructed in their first skills by the Waterway Police.

Also this month, Bach Dang Waterway Police Station coordinated to organize propaganda on road and waterway traffic safety and drowning prevention for more than 300 primary school students of 4 schools in Nam Trieu ward.

It is known that according to the plan, this summer, the Traffic Police Department of Hai Phong City Police will organize free swimming lessons for more than 200 children in difficult circumstances in the city, continuing to enhance the image of friendly, humane and responsible police officers towards the community.
