On the afternoon of July 5, the Traffic Police Department of Can Tho City Police said that the working group of Hung Phu Traffic Police Station, while on duty, took a baby at risk of a ruptured bladder to the hospital for timely emergency treatment.

At about 2:50 p.m. on Pham Hung Street, Cai Rang Ward, Can Tho City, the working group including Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoa Hiep, Deputy Head of Hung Phu Traffic Police Station; Lieutenant Colonel Pham Minh Huong and Senior Lieutenant Dang Thien Van were on patrol duty when they received a report that a child needed assistance.

Accordingly, Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan (23 years old, residing in My Tu commune, Can Tho city), said that her child, PHT (4 years old), had urinary retention and was at risk of bladder rupture.

Immediately, the Working Group quickly used a specialized vehicle to transport T. to the emergency room at Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital (Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy).

Specialist 2 Nguyen Trung Hieu, Deputy Head of the Urology Center (Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital) said that baby T. had a congenital defect in the genitals that had been surgically removed. Because the wound was still painful every time he urinated, he held his urine, causing urine to accumulate in the bladder.

After being admitted to the hospital, doctors inserted a urinary catheter for the child. The child's health is now stable and he is being monitored at the hospital.

Previously, in October 2024, while patrolling on National Highway 1A, Ba Lang Traffic Police Station (under the Traffic Police Department of Can Tho City Police) was informed by a driver that they were transporting a pregnant woman from Tien Giang province (old) whose water had broken and she was in a dangerous condition.

Immediately, the Working Group used a specialized vehicle, turned on the priority siren, and led a taxi carrying the pregnant woman to Can Tho City Maternity Hospital for timely emergency care./.
