Ms. Tran Thi Nga (63 years old), Hoa's mother, said that when she was born, Hoa weighed only 1.8kg, was very thin, but her limbs were longer than those of normal children.

During puberty, Hoa's height grew even more rapidly, and the clothes she bought were too short to wear. When no ready-made clothes fit, Mrs. Nga had to buy fabric and make her own clothes for her daughter.

Because of that difference, Hoa had few friends and spent all day alone at home. Mrs. Nga got married late, and Hoa was her only child. Three years ago, her husband passed away from a serious illness, leaving her and her child in a dilapidated house.

"Hoa has never loved anyone, partly because she is often sick, partly because she is too tall, and I am poor ," Mrs. Nga said sadly.

Not long ago, 2-3 young men came to her house to get to know her. Mrs. Nga was very happy because her daughter had a boyfriend when she reached the age of marriage. She was anxious for her daughter to find a place to depend on. Among the young men who came to visit, there were some who were about the same height as Hoa, from Ben Tre . However, after getting to know her, she still could not find the right "piece".

"Some people are not compatible in age, and the compatible person is much older than me so my family doesn't allow us to move forward," Hoa said.

Many people advised Hoa to be confident and open her heart, if love hasn't knocked on her door yet, she should take the initiative to find it. However, the 28-year-old girl replied timidly: "I don't dare go, I'm afraid that people will see me when I go out, and if someone sees me, they will run away."

Mrs. Nga also has a special request: any man who wants to marry her daughter must accept to live with her in-laws. Because up until now, the family has only had the mother and daughter, and she does not want to marry Hoa far away because she is afraid of being alone and sad in old age.

Hoa's eyesight is quite poor, she has to wear glasses.

Currently, Mrs. Nga and her daughter still go out to collect coconut leaves to whitt them down to sell to people to make brooms to cover their daily living expenses. Mrs. Nga said that on average, one kilo of coconut stalks can be exchanged for 3,000 - 4,000 VND, depending on whether the stalks are dry or fresh. Now the price is only 2,000 VND/kg but not many people buy them anymore, the bundles of coconut brooms pile up in the house, the family's economy is difficult. The life of the mother and daughter depends entirely on the allowance for the disabled, 1 million VND/month.

Feeling sorry for her mother's hard work, Hoa always tries to help her and work extra to help her. Her life revolves around the dogs in the house.

"I just wish for myself to have more health, to help my mother, and for the remaining days to be less difficult," Hoa said.
