Timely rescue for fishermen in Truong Sa island

On June 6, military doctors on Truong Sa island received and treated fisherman Vo Sy Danh (born in 1981, from Quang Nam province, working on fishing boat QNa 91577 TS) with kidney colic.

According to patient Danh, at around 5am the same day, he began to experience colic pain in his left lower back, which gradually increased and did not subside despite the use of painkillers. The patient was taken to the emergency room with severe colic pain in the left lower back, accompanied by symptoms of painful urination, frequent urination and mild fever. Through paraclinical tests, military doctors diagnosed the patient with left renal colic due to ureteral stones, accompanied by grade I renal pelvis dilation and urinary tract infection.

The patient was treated with pain relief, smooth muscle relaxants, intravenous fluids, and antibiotics to control infection and relieve symptoms. Doctors continued to closely monitor the patient's condition, especially the risk of acute kidney injury and renal failure.
