A solid "bridge" in the border highlands

For many years, the Border Guard of Quang Tri province has implemented the policy of sending a number of cadres and party members from border posts to participate in activities in border village and hamlet Party cells. Thereby, it has become a "bridge", strengthening the close bond between the Party and the people, contributing to building an increasingly strong local political base in the border area.

Welcome him to the prosperous village

Like many other officers and party members of border posts, in 2022, Major Truong Tan Hop, Con Roang Border Post, was assigned to participate in activities at the Cu Ton village Party Cell, Thuong Trach commune. Cu Ton village has 53 households/215 people, of which 97% are Ma Coong people.

After nearly 3 years of being attached to the area, implementing the motto "going to every alley, knocking on every door", Major Hop and the Party Committee of the Party cell have researched and grasped the situation in all aspects to advise and guide Party members in the Party cell to thoroughly grasp the resolutions, directives and plans of the superiors, maintain and strictly implement the living regimes.

At the same time, effectively maintain the operation of the village security and order self-management team, the border and national border marker self-management team; actively mobilize people to raise awareness in forest protection and development; guide people to effectively implement models of raising pigs, black geese, beekeeping for honey...; propagate and guide to raise awareness of using civil works, such as: "Border Guard Water Well", "Border Light", "Border Guard Medicine Cabinet"; directly raise and care for 3 students in the program "Helping you go to school - Adopted children of Border Guard Station"...

Secretary of the Cu Ton village Party cell, Mr. Dinh Chien said: “Participating in the activities of the Party cell, comrade Truong Tan Hop has proactively advised on consolidating and maintaining the Party's rules and regulations; actively proposed to the Party cell to fully implement directives, resolutions, and plans of Party committees at all levels; propagated and mobilized people in the village to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws, and participated with the Border Guard in managing and protecting sovereignty and border security."

Thanks to that, in recent years, the quality of activities of Ban Cu Ton Party Cell has always been focused on, increasingly close to the actual situation, proposing appropriate directions and solutions to lead the tasks of economic and social development, protecting territorial sovereignty and national border security.

In particular, the work of discovering and nurturing village cadres and creating sources for developing new party members has been given attention by the Party cell and has had many positive changes. For many years, the Cu Ton village Party cell has always achieved the title of clean and strong, and the economic, cultural and social life of the villagers has been significantly improved.

Major Truong Tan Hop shared: “When assigned to work and participate in activities at the Cu Ton village Party Cell, in addition to guiding cadres and party members in the cell on information related to the situation of border management and protection, the fight against crime..., I advised the cell on preparing the content of activities, receiving and introducing Party activities to party members... in accordance with regulations, instructions on implementing the Party Charter and instructions of higher-level Party committees; actively advising on building strong political organizations...”.

To date, 108 Quang Tri Border Guard Party members have participated in activities at 104 village and hamlet Party cells in border communes. These are all experienced cadres who work directly in the area, understand local customs and practices; have strong political will, good working capacity..., and are truly a bridge between the Border Guard and ethnic minorities in the border highlands.

Green-uniformed party members who have participated in activities have contributed to "igniting" all movements and models on the western border of the province. In fact, in recent years, in addition to advising party cells to effectively implement resolutions, organize dissemination and implementation of resolutions, border guard party members have also helped the government and people of villages and hamlets build models to help people develop the economy... bringing practical benefits to people in the border areas.

Border Guard Party members working locally have also promoted the role of village elders, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the area in mobilizing people to build cultural villages and cultural families, associated with new rural construction.

Mr. Dinh Cu, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Thuong Trach commune, said: "The Border Guard Party members have supported the Party cell in many aspects, from the way of conducting meetings to implementing Party directives and resolutions, bringing Party cell activities into order, creating internal solidarity.

Notably, Border Guard Party members have actively advised Party cells to issue leadership resolutions that are close to and appropriate to the characteristics of each locality, helping people develop the economy, stabilize their lives and build cultural villages.

Colonel Ngo Minh Dien, Deputy Political Commissar of the Provincial Border Guard Command, affirmed: "The policy of introducing Border Guard station party members to Party activities in border village and hamlet party cells has been effectively implemented, demonstrating that this is a correct policy, creating trust from local Party committees, authorities and the masses for Border Guard party members.

From there, it creates a combined strength to build a strong political system at the grassroots level, contributing to building an increasingly solid all-people border defense and all-people border defense posture; contributing to improving the quality of party cells, and strengthening the sentiment between the army and the people at the border.

Implementing the two-level local government model, in the coming time, the Border Guard Command will continue to further promote the role of border guard station party members participating in village party cell activities, contributing to building an increasingly strong local political base, building a peaceful, friendly, cooperative and developed border.
