Justin Hubner, a naturalized Indonesian player, has caused a huge stir on social media. He posted a picture of an unsportsmanlike act he made in a previous match against Saudi Arabia, when he learned that the team would be Indonesia’s opponent in the fourth round of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
The shocking moment posted by Hubner was during the match between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia in the third qualifying round of the 2026 World Cup, taking place at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium on November 19, 2024.
In that match, Indonesia won 2-0. However, the image that the defender born in 2003 chose to share was a sensitive ball dispute, in which he had unsportsmanlike behavior when he raised his foot and kicked the head of a player in blue (referring to the Saudi Arabian player).
It is worth mentioning that Hubner also attached a meaningful caption: "We meet again".

Hubner’s unsportsmanlike conduct in that match earned him a straight red card in the 89th minute, a clear demonstration of the danger of the incident. The fact that he chose that moment to recall it, along with a provocative message, has caused great outrage among the online community and fans.
Not only did he receive anger from Saudi Arabian fans, he also received criticism from his own fans.
In the face of intense criticism, Hubner quickly deleted his controversial post. He later posted a brief apology on social media: "I'm sorry if anyone was disappointed. Love you all."
