Durian seedlings have increased in price in Hau Giang, the highest price is 200,000 VND/tree, nursery people make a lot of money

Currently, the price of durian seedlings in Chau Thanh A district, Hau Giang province has increased from 20,000-30,000 VND/tree.

Durian seedlings are increasing in price and selling well, supply cannot meet demand in Hau Giang province and some provinces in the Mekong Delta. The highest price of durian seedlings in Hau Giang is 200,000 VND/tree.

Specifically, Ri 6 seedless durian seedlings cost 120,000-160,000 VND/tree, Mongthong durian (rootstock size 2.5-4cm, 2-3 leaf clusters) costs 130,000-200,000 VND/tree depending on the type.

Recently, durian has been sold at high prices thanks to the increased export of durian to the Chinese market. This has encouraged people to develop durian cultivation, so the demand for seedlings has increased.

Specifically, the durian growing area of Hau Giang province is nearly 2,500 hectares, with two popular durian varieties: Ri6 durian and Mongthong durian.

Currently, the durian area in Hau Giang province is nearly 1,000 hectares, the average durian yield is 14-16 tons of fruit/ha, the selling price of durian ranges from 45,000-70,000 VND/kg depending on the variety.

According to seedling suppliers in Hau Giang and the Mekong Delta provinces, due to the high demand for durian cultivation, while the quantity of durian seedlings in the coming time may decrease, because there is not enough raw material for grafting, the price of seedlings in the coming time is likely to remain high.
