According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, satellite imagery, lightning location data, and weather radar images show that convective clouds are developing over the Hoang Long, Nguyen Van Linh, and Viet Yen areas (Hung Yen province); and Linh Nam and Bat Trang areas ( Hanoi province ), and are moving towards the inner city of Hanoi.

Forecasts indicate that over the next 3 hours, this thunderstorm system will affect the areas of Vinh Hung, Hoang Mai, Yen So, Long Bien, Vinh Tuy, Tuong Mai, Bach Mai, Hoang Liet, Dinh Cong, Phuong Liet wards... and other areas within Hanoi's inner city, bringing rain, showers, and possibly thunderstorms. During the thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, and strong gusts of wind.

The meteorological agency also reported that last night and this morning (October 15), the Northeast region and the provinces from Thanh Hoa to Quang Tri experienced rain, moderate rain, and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy to very heavy rain.

Rainfall measured from 7 PM on October 14th to 8 AM on October 15th exceeded 90mm in some areas, such as Binh Lieu station (Quang Ninh) with 180.6mm, Ta Sa station ( Cao Bang ) with 121.2mm, and Thong Nhat station (Thanh Hoa) with 98.6mm, etc.

The forecast for October 15th indicates scattered showers and thunderstorms in the Northeast region and provinces from Thanh Hoa to Ha Tinh, with rainfall generally ranging from 10-30mm, and locally heavy rain exceeding 80mm. Rain will gradually decrease from the night of October 15th. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

Localized heavy rainfall is likely to cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on slopes, and flooding in low-lying areas. Residents in these areas should monitor weather reports and be prepared with preventative measures to respond promptly to any potential situations.
