At the seminar, representatives from tourism service businesses were guided on implementing environmental protection regulations in tourism activities according to the two-tiered local government model; implementing groups of solutions to protect the environment at tourist accommodation establishments and tourist destinations; and solutions to minimize single-use plastic waste in tourism activities.

At the same time, delegates shared experiences in developing tourism models and products that minimize plastic waste, aiming for green and sustainable growth.

Within the framework of the seminar, tourism service businesses received training on sorting solid waste at source; visited exhibition spaces showcasing typical green tourism destinations, green and environmentally friendly products, and local OCOP products…

Speaking at the seminar, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Van Ba Son stated that Da Nang is being recognized as a bright spot in the country's green transformation journey.

The city not only inherits a modern and dynamic tourism foundation but also continues the spirit of heritage preservation, environmental protection, and sustainable community development.

Based on that orientation, the city's tourism industry has determined that green transformation begins first with reducing waste, especially plastic waste, and progresses to reducing emissions and developing low-carbon tourism.

This is not a trendy choice, but a core, long-term development strategy.

Currently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism is continuing to refine the Green Tourism Criteria, approaching the standards of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), in order to standardize green practices throughout the city and create favorable conditions for businesses to access international sustainability certifications.

With the goal of becoming an environmentally friendly city in the near future, the seminar is a practical and meaningful activity, aiming to encourage the entire tourism industry in the city to work together to build the "Green Wall for the Tourism Industry" initiative.
