The family of Ms. Doan Thi Phuong (80 years old, living in village 2, Son Cam Ha commune) has just received 30 million VND in support to repair the old house according to Decision No. 21/2024 of the Prime Minister on supporting the construction of new houses or renovating and repairing houses for people with revolutionary contributions and relatives of martyrs.
Ms. Phuong participated in the resistance war and was awarded the Second Class Resistance Medal by the State. She and her 84-year-old husband are currently living with their son's family.
When the old house was built a long time ago and was in disrepair, the commune surveyed and made a list of support for her family to repair the house. With 30 million VND in support, the family added 20 million VND to cover the roof with new corrugated iron, tile the floor, and cover the walls to make the house cleaner and more beautiful.
Ms. Phuong said: "With the support from the State, our family has more motivation to repair our house firmly, no longer worried when the rainy season comes."
Mr. Tran Thanh Hai, Vice Chairman of Son Cam Ha Commune People's Committee said: "In the past time, the regimes and policies for people with revolutionary contributions and social security regimes for people have been fully resolved in accordance with regulations.
Currently, all households of meritorious people in the commune have a standard of living equal to or higher than the average standard of living of the residential community. The whole commune has processed the records for the guaranteed subjects.
Regarding the policy on supporting the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses for meritorious people, poor and near-poor households according to the resolutions of Quang Nam (old) and the Central Government from 2022 to present, the whole commune has 139 houses supported with a budget of more than 2.4 billion VND, currently there are no temporary or dilapidated houses left.
Son Cam Ha currently has 351 people with meritorious services, wounded soldiers, and Vietnamese Heroic Mothers still alive.
For Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, the units that receive care regularly visit, care for and have a support regime to ensure their lives. The Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune have assigned the commune's mass organizations to regularly visit and care for Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families of policy beneficiaries, and wounded soldiers.
Currently, Son Cam Ha has only 30 poor and near-poor households.
Except for households that cannot escape poverty, the commune will impact and help poor households rise up through solutions such as vocational training, job referrals, suitable livelihood support, helping and sponsoring children of poor households to study through scholarships from the scholarship fund...
