Recently, the Vietnam Pediatric Association and Roche Diabetes Care Vietnam signed a cooperation agreement to improve access to care services for disadvantaged children with type 1 diabetes in Vietnam.
This project is part of a global collaboration between Novo Nordisk and Roche, within the framework of the Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes Care (CDiC) Programme. CDiC is managed by Novo Nordisk and Roche Diabetes Care, with the participation of national and international partners.
This public-private partnership aims to improve access and build sustainable systems of care in low-resource countries. It also provides insulin and diabetes monitoring and management kits for children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes under the age of 25.

Under this newly signed partnership, the CDiC program aims to improve the quality of care for type 1 diabetes in children and adolescents in Vietnam by providingeducation and training to physicians and nurses, and raising awareness of diabetes and its management among children with type 1 diabetes and their families.
The program also aims for sustainable change to integrate program components into the national health care system.
As part of the program, the Vietnam Pediatric Association and Roche will provide free diabetes management and monitoring kits, including blood glucose meters, blood glucose test strips and blood lancets.
This partnership will expand care to 2,600 children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes through the National Children's Hospital and other hospitals nationwide, including urban and rural areas.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Minh Dien, President of the Vietnam Pediatric Association and Director of the National Children's Hospital, said: " Through this cooperation, the Vietnam Pediatric Association hopes to reduce the financial and mental burden of living with the disease for families with children with type 1 diabetes.
I hope this will improve the lives of many more children with the diabetes management tools they need to get good control of their condition .”
