Government Electronic Information Portal, Government Electronic Newspaper: Not only reporting news but also creating thinking

(Chinhphu.vn) - After 100 years of continuous growth, the role of Vietnam's revolutionary press has been increasingly affirmed. Not only is it a bridge to convey the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, but official press agencies also proactively create awareness, promote dialogue and connect policies with real life. Typical of that mission, the Government Electronic Information Portal has been affirming its position as a reliable information channel, guiding thinking and action for the intellectual community, businessmen and the education sector.

An effective bridge from policy to the activities of the business community.

For both domestic and international business communities, the Government's e-Government Portal is considered a reliable, trustworthy, and practical source of official information.

Mr. Travis Mitchell, Executive Director for Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang of AmCham Vietnam, said that over the years, the Government's online portal has become a reliable and essential source of information for AmCham Vietnam.

"We regularly monitor the Government's e-Government Portal to stay updated on macroeconomic policies, government directives, and legal developments affecting the business environment. This helps us provide accurate, timely, and transparent information to our members – a key factor in building and maintaining trust within the business community. AmCham highly appreciates the user-friendliness and the ability of the Government's e-Government Portal to synthesize information from multiple government agencies, thereby significantly improving the efficiency and accessibility of information for the business community," said Travis Mitchell.

AmCham representatives also acknowledged that, by implementing a comprehensive approach across diverse digital platforms such as the Government's online newspaper, social media, and online panel discussions, the Government's online portal has significantly expanded its reach to the public both domestically and internationally. These efforts clearly demonstrate the government's commitment to strengthening two-way dialogue, listening to, and supporting the business community.

In the coming period, AmCham expects the Government's e-Government Portal to continue improving the effectiveness of digital interaction through the development of direct interaction features and real-time information updates, in order to strengthen connections with businesses.

Establishing a modern, humane, and sustainable policy communication ecosystem.

From the perspective of a domestic business, businessman Phan Minh Thong, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Sinh Group, said that for him, monitoring information from the Government's Electronic Information Portal has become a daily habit to update policies, grasp the socio-economic situation, and identify legal warnings related to production and business activities.

"We highly appreciate the timeliness and practicality of the information on the Government's e-Government Portal, which always closely follows social life and production and business activities. This is an official source of information with high reference value, helping the business community have a solid foundation to plan strategies and make effective business decisions," emphasized the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Phuc Sinh Group.

According to businessman Phan Minh Thong, official information only truly "lives" when it is correctly understood, widely discussed, and integrated into the values and thinking of succeeding generations. From the perspective of revolutionary journalism, communicating policies today requires more than just conveying information; it must be a journey of building awareness, promoting responsible criticism, and inspiring innovation.

As the official mouthpiece of the Government in the digital space, the Government's e-Government Portal is gradually realizing that goal by connecting policies with practice, linking the State with citizens and businesses, and contributing to the formation of a modern, humane, and sustainable policy communication ecosystem.

"I hope the Government's e-Government Portal will develop more online programs, seminars, videos, and articles that more closely reflect the real-life experiences of businesses. When policy communication is closely linked to business practices, the private sector will be more proactive in adjusting its strategies and complying with the law, especially in the context of implementing Resolution 68 on the development of the private economy," Mr. Thong suggested.

Policy information has a clear impact on education and training.

In the higher education environment—where accurate, systematic, and highly targeted information is essential—the Government's Information Portal plays a crucial role as a "standard reference point" for the academic community. Beyond simply providing news, the Government's Information Portal has created a continuous flow of information, enabling universities and intellectuals to stay abreast of the Government's key directives, especially long-term, groundbreaking policies.

According to Master's degree holder Doan Ngoc Duy, Vice Rector of Hoa Sen University, the Government's online information portal is fostering responsible critical thinking within the scientific community. He believes this is the result of a pivotal shift from purely traditional communication to constructive communication, most clearly demonstrated through the in-depth dissemination of key resolutions such as Resolutions 57, 66, and 68 of the Politburo.

"For us, this is not just news; it's a guiding signal to adjust our training programs, shape our research approach, and encourage students to understand their role as citizens in the new era," emphasized the Vice Rector of Hoa Sen University.

The core value of official information lies not in its form, but in its ability to spread to the right level of awareness. The Government's online portal has done this very well by not superficially following technological trends, but proactively choosing appropriate platforms (from the Government Electronic Newspaper, the "Government Information" fanpage, to policy forums and in-depth analytical videos) to preserve the original value of policies, while bringing policies closer to young people using modern media language without losing accuracy.

For the academic community, including students and faculty – those who directly learn and create knowledge – the digital platforms of the Government Information Portal, such as the "Government Information" Fanpage, thematic forums, and policy analysis sections, have become a vibrant bridge, bringing macroeconomic policies directly into research and learning activities. The effectiveness of policy integration into the academic environment is most clearly demonstrated when national strategic resolutions, from Resolution 57 on innovation to Resolution 68 on the private economy, become topics of lively discussion right in the classrooms of economics, communication, or public policy.

"I believe that the strength of mainstream media lies in its ability to 'activate intellectual participation,' not just informing but also stimulating thinking and dialogue. The Government's online portal is doing this consistently and strategically. This is a very commendable direction, because a policy only truly comes alive if it is understood correctly, widely discussed, and integrated into the values and thinking of future generations," emphasized Master's degree holder Doan Ngoc Duy.

Master's degree holder Doan Ngoc Duy suggested that the Government's online information portal could collaborate with universities to pilot the development of academic models linked to policy, where students and lecturers not only receive information but also provide feedback and propose practical solutions. This would foster a generation of young intellectuals capable of participating in the policy-making process in a practical and responsible manner.

"If policy is the compass for the future, then education is where we prepare the people to follow it. When the Government's e-Government portal and universities move in unison, we not only communicate policies but also create people capable of continuing to write them," shared Master's degree holder Doan Ngoc Duy.

According to Dr. Tran Cong Thang, Director of the Institute of Agricultural and Environmental Strategy and Policy, the Government's e-Government Portal has achieved many successes in conveying policy information to the public, thanks to its modern platform, rich content, and timely updates. "The Government's e-Government Portal has become an official and reliable information channel, accurately reflecting the decisions and directives of the Government and the Prime Minister," Dr. Thang emphasized.

To further enhance the effectiveness of policy communication, Dr. Tran Cong Thang suggested that the Government's e-Government portal should strengthen two-way interaction, expand policy Q&A forums, and collaborate with local media channels to reach the right target groups.

A reliable source of official and accurate information for citizens and businesses.

From the perspective of a media student interning at Ho Chi Minh City Television (HTV), Nguyen Phan Hoan Luan, a professional media student at RMIT University, stated that the Government's online information portal has effectively utilized digital platforms to update information quickly, accurately, and clearly. In particular, the content is always comprehensive and systematic, making it easy for the media to cite and utilize, especially in the context of increasingly complex misinformation.
