Over the years, the District Youth Union has implemented many good models and effective methods, contributing to creating exciting emulation movements, attracting a large number of team members and children to participate.
Spread reading culture
To convey reading content, improve knowledge, and contribute to improving reading culture among team members and children, the District Team Council organized the implementation of the "Book Exchange Corner" model, thereby attracting the active participation of team members and children.
Mr. Le Ngoc Minh Hung - Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union said that in the 2024-2025 school year, the District Youth Union Council has developed and issued a plan to replicate the "Book Exchange Corner" model and sent it to the Provincial Youth Union Council; at the same time, advised the Standing Committee of the District Youth Union to coordinate with the District Department ofEducation and Training to direct the Youth Union Councils of communes, towns and primary and secondary schools to maintain the model well with the motto "Sharing knowledge - Sharing dreams".
In addition, direct the Youth Union Councils of communes and towns to mobilize social resources to equip books for local schools to exchange books for students at schools.
Dinh Ngoc Hai Anh, a 5B student at Hoang Le Kha Primary School, shared: “Reading helps us expand our knowledge, understanding and form good habits. Teachers also often remind us to read books to learn more interesting things. Not only do I read myself, I also promote the benefits of reading to my friends and discuss good books together.”
In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole district carried out 274,502 exchanges, with 22,958 books, attracting more than 17,000 people. team members and children to participate. In addition, the teams regularly organize quiz games with prizes during book exchange days; the Commune and Town Team Councils give away 3,621 book to local teams.
“The model aims to equip children with reading skills and benefits from book exchange, bringing new values to books; at the same time, sending a message of sharing and respect for knowledge” - Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union said.
The District Youth Union continues to expand the model to Youth Union bases; research and create more content to attract more team members and students to participate, helping students increasingly access the priceless treasure of books; innovate methods and expand the implementation area to cultural houses in hamlets and neighborhoods to encourage and enhance the spirit of reading.
“A moral story every month”
This is a model that the District Youth Union has implemented since the 2022-2023 school year.
“The model aims to educate about history, ethical traditions, lifestyle, school culture, helping children to improve the content they have learned, practice thinking and creativity, foster pure moral feelings, communication and behavior skills, and improve organizational and disciplinary awareness. In addition, it enhances digital capacity for children to respond to digital transformation pioneers, helping them practice video processing skills with smartphones, script writing skills, acting skills, and teamwork skills,” said the Deputy Secretary of the District Youth Union.
To implement the model, the District Youth Union Council advised the District Youth Union Standing Committee to direct the teams to advise the School Board to direct the experts to advise, support content, and write scripts during the implementation of the model. Every month, the teams organize training and record videos on different topics.
Each video is about 3-5 minutes long, with educational content about history, moral traditions, lifestyle, school culture in the form of dramatization, associated with the monthly theme under the guidance of the General Manager and the teacher in charge of the Team. After that, the videos are posted on the fanpage of the District Team Council, the teams use the clips as materials for propaganda for young people, broadcasting young people, and team activities. In addition, the District Team Council launches a contest to vote for videos introducing the most favorite examples, with good quality and content to spread the model to the community.
Mr. Pham Hong Thai - Head of the Town Secondary School Team said that the highlight of the model is that the students themselves will be the narrators and video producers. Through the form of dramatization, it will educate the team members and children about moral traditions, regulations of the 2016 Law on Children, school behavior culture, raising awareness against fraudulent behavior of strangers, actively participating in traffic safety activities, etc.
Many meaningful models, creating spread
In addition, the District Youth Union Council effectively implemented models suitable to the needs of team members and children such as : "Love trash can", "Historical corridor", "Chau Thanh children - Moving forward under the Youth Union flag", "I love folk games", "Friends' arms - Reducing drowning accidents".
In particular, the model "Love Trash Bin" has been deployed to 100% of the Union and the Youth Union Councils of communes and towns, collecting more than 35,550 kg of waste and selling it to raise funds with a total amount of more than 130 million VND, attracting a large number of children and members in the whole district to participate. The money sold was used to build a Red Scarf house, 3 game clusters for children, 2 reading, interaction and Team activity spaces. The model was recognized by the Tay Ninh Provincial Youth Union Council as a new model for the 2018-2019 school year.
Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, a 5C student at An Co Primary School, shared: “Since implementing this model, our school campus has always been clean, and there is no more littering. We are also more aware of our responsibility to protect the environment, know how to classify waste, and generate income from recycled waste.”
Or the model "Circle of Friends - Reducing Drowning" is an innovation in the way of educating children to prevent and combat drowning accidents, contributing to reducing the number of drowning accidents among children in the district. To effectively implement the model, the Head of the Youth Union of the schools guides the children to write articles with open topics such as: "What do you understand about drowning accidents", "What will you do to prevent drowning?", "What do you want to tell your friends about this issue" ...
Thereby, more than 3,000 articles of children were sent to the District Youth Union Council to synthesize and select articles with meaningful content to create propaganda videos on drowning prevention. The propaganda videos will be shown in flag-salute activities, Youth Union activities and posted on the internet, Facebook pages and groups of agencies, departments, branches and localities. The highest efficiency of the model is to contribute to reducing the number of drowning accidents among children in the district.
Through the activities of the models, the District Team Council hopes that the team members and children will actively strive, study, practice, participate in effective team activities, and always be worthy of being good children, good students, good team members, and "Good children of Uncle Ho".
