At approximately 10:15 PM tonight (March 17th), residents in Ward 27 discovered a fire breaking out in a kiosk inside Thanh Da Market, an area specializing in selling plastic goods.

The fire quickly spread to a row of adjacent kiosks. Within minutes, the flames intensified into a raging inferno, with columns of bright red fire and thick smoke engulfing the area.

Many residents shouted for help and brought fire extinguishers to put out the fire, but without success.

Upon receiving the report, the Ho Chi Minh City Police Fire and Rescue Force mobilized numerous fire trucks and more than 50 firefighters to the scene.

Firefighters pulled out hoses to extinguish the blaze, making efforts to prevent it from spreading.

Meanwhile, small business owners across the street from the burning stalls quickly gathered their goods and belongings and moved them outside to avoid losses.

By 10:30 PM, the fire was partially under control, and authorities entered the market to assess the damage and identify anyone trapped.

Fire at the old Cai Be market.

Also this evening (March 17th), at around 7 PM, a shop selling votive paper at the old Cai Be market, located on Trung Nu Vuong Street, Cai Be town, Cai Be district, Tien Giang province, suddenly caught fire. Flames and thick smoke billowed from the building even though the doors were closed and the owner was away.

Upon discovering the fire, residents in the vicinity called the authorities and simultaneously broke down doors and used various methods to fight the fire, but without success.

Upon receiving the report, three fire trucks along with numerous officers and soldiers from the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department of the Provincial Police quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire.

Due to the presence of many flammable items and equipment inside the house, firefighting efforts were difficult. After about an hour, the fire was basically brought under control and did not spread to the densely populated area. Although there were no casualties, most of the property inside the house was destroyed by the fire.
