Russia's Murmansk Emergency Situations Service said late on December 24 on the Telegram messaging app that a fire broke out on the Sevmorput nuclear-powered icebreaker cargo ship but was quickly extinguished, according to Reuters. "There were no casualties in the incident," the agency said of the accident on the icebreaker.

Murmansk is a region in northwestern Russia, bordering Finland, Norway, and the Barents Sea and the White Sea.
Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the fire occurred in one of the cabins on the ship in an area of about 30 square meters.
The Sevmorput, commissioned in 1988 and extensively upgraded 10 years ago, is Russia's only nuclear-powered icebreaker, according to state nuclear energy company Rosatom.
At an event this month, Russian President Vladimir Putin hailed Russia's nuclear-powered icebreaker fleet as unique. "No other country in the world has such ships. Russia is the only country with a nuclear icebreaker fleet," TASS quoted the leader as saying.
