According to Dailymail , Coach Graham Potter will receive a contract compensation of up to 13 million pounds from Chelsea after he was fired by the Stamford Bridge team a few days ago.
This is one of the highest compensation payments in history, higher than the £10 million that The Blues spent to fire coach Thomas Tuchel last September.
The highest compensation in Premier League history belongs to coach Antonio Conte. The coach born in 1969 pocketed 26.6 million pounds when leaving Chelsea in 2018.
In second place is Jose Mourinho. The "Special One" received 19.6 million pounds after Man Utd unilaterally terminated his contract in 2019.
Chelsea have become a club with staggering management costs, having spent over £50m to sign and then sack Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter in just seven months.
The Blues had to spend £22m to release Graham Potter from Brighton after previously paying £10m in compensation to coach Thomas Tuchel.
In addition to the £13m contract compensation, manager Graham Potter also received £7m in salary during his short time in charge.
Chelsea's extraordinary management spending will increase the need to sell a host of players this summer to comply with Premier League spending rules after the club announced a £121m loss for the 2021/22 season last week.
Notably, that figure does not include the £550m spent on new players since chairman Todd Boehly took over last summer, which will force the Stamford Bridge club to cut costs drastically in the future.
