FIFA Club World Cup 2025 champions Chelsea have recently made it clear that they are not about to let go of one of their most prized possessions, Cole Palmer .

The London club said “no” to a £170m offer from Man City – Palmer’s former team.

Chelsea emphasize that the English midfielder is their important asset, an indispensable leader in the revival of The Blues.

Of course, Chelsea don't think Palmer is priceless. Instead, they put a number on the table: The Blues value the new No. 10 at £250m.

In case any team agrees to pay this amount, it means breaking all transfer records in football history.

At 23, Palmer is a key figure in the team's tactical scheme, and has become more complete since Enzo Maresca took over as head coach.

It was Palmer who made the difference in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, which Chelsea beat PSG 3-0, with a brace and an assist for the other goal.

Palmer's spectacular performance against PSG also helped him receive the FIFA Best Player award at the first Club World Cup played under the new version.

At the beginning of the 2024/25 season, Chelsea extended Palmer's contract until 2033. Therefore, the Stamford Bridge team is in no hurry to respond to the interest of rivals for him.

Chelsea’s “huge” price tag for Palmer shows the importance of the former Man City player. Besides, it is also a “declaration” from The Blues that they do not sell stars – despite the fact that many have come and gone in recent times.

Palmer himself also expressed his happiness at Stamford Bridge. When he did not have many opportunities to play at Man City, he chose to leave and it was Chelsea that gave him what he has today.
