Paying social insurance benefits to victims who died in the fire at the mini apartment building in Hanoi

The social insurance agency has paid funeral expenses to 11 people and one-time death benefits to 6 victims who died in the mini apartment fire in Thanh Xuan district, Hanoi .

According to the latest announcement of Vietnam Social Security, Hanoi Social Security has urgently resolved funeral and survivor benefits for social insurance participants who were victims of the fire according to regulations.

Of the 56 people who died in the fire, 17 were participating in social insurance and were reserving their participation time.

As of this morning (September 19), Hanoi Social Insurance and districts, towns have paid death benefits to relatives of workers with a total amount of more than 567 million VND.

The social insurance agency paid funeral expenses to 11 people, totaling 198 million VND; and paid one-time death benefits to 6 people, totaling over 369 million VND.

Regarding the settlement of death benefits and burial expenses for fire victims, the social insurance agency makes direct payments to the deceased's relatives at home, without requiring people to go to the social insurance agency to complete the procedures.

In addition, the Vietnam Social Security sector has organized support and visits to families of victims (including 45 injured and 56 deceased) with a total amount of 258 million VND; of which: Support of 3 million VND/deceased person and 2 million VND/injured person.
