Before coming to the schools with many difficulties, the volunteer group respectfully offered incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at Vi Xuyen National Martyrs Cemetery - a place that marks the blood and sacrifices of those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.

After the incense offering ceremony, the delegation respectfully offered incense in the memorial service at the Vi Xuyen Front Heroic Martyrs Temple, praying for national peace and prosperity, for people in flood-affected areas to soon overcome difficulties, and for teachers and students to return to school with peace of mind.

Located in Tuyen Quang province (formerly part of Ha Giang ), Vi Xuyen commune is a mountainous area with many difficulties, people's livelihoods depend on agriculture and small-scale livestock farming. Storm No. 10 and the floods that followed have caused severe damage to life here compared to previous storms and floods.
From Hanoi , the volunteer group traveled more than 300km, bringing many essential, valuable and meaningful gifts: TVs, freezers, tables and chairs, learning equipment (books, pens, rulers, teaching aids...) and more than 80 packages of necessities: rice, noodles, milk, candy, drinks...

The delegation’s destinations were Nguyen Tat Thanh Primary School and Ly Tu Trong Secondary School. These were the schools that suffered the most damage in the historic flood. In some places, the water was nearly 3 meters deep, destroying all the desks, chairs, cabinets, electrical equipment and teaching aids.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Van Giang, Vice Principal of Ly Tu Trong Secondary School, emotionally said: “The storms and floods came one after another, the water rose so quickly during the night that teachers and students had no time to react. Desks, chairs, computers, and teaching equipment were all severely damaged. We could only stand and watch as the water washed away years of hard work.”

On behalf of the delegation, the Buddhist nuns of the Great Mandala Tay Thien Stupa sent their heartfelt condolences on behalf of all Buddhists and members of YDA Vietnam: “We understand that natural disasters can sweep away property and disrupt learning, but cannot sweep away the determination, spirit of overcoming difficulties and aspirations of teachers and students here. We hope that these small gifts will contribute to warming the spirit and helping the students to soon stabilize their studies.”
After words of encouragement, practical and meaningful gifts and scholarships were handed to students in difficult circumstances. Joy was evident in the eyes of the children, mixed with the emotion of the teachers.

The group also donated freezers, household items, food, milk, and cakes to the boarding students. Teacher Van Giang was moved and said: “This is truly a great source of encouragement for us teachers and students to be more confident. Thank you to the volunteer group for coming to Vi Xuyen at the time we needed it most.”
Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vi Xuyen commune, expressed: “We are very touched by the sentiments of the volunteer group. The meaningful, valuable and practical gifts have come to Vi Xuyen very promptly, helping teachers and students of the school to ease their difficulties and soon stabilize their lives and studies.”

According to the report of the Civil Defense Command of Tuyen Quang province, by October 3, floods in the area had caused 8 deaths and missing people, more than 19,000 houses were affected; of which 39 houses were completely destroyed; 100 schools, medical stations, and cultural houses were severely damaged; more than 9,000 hectares of rice, crops, and fruit trees were flooded and buried; 120 fish cages, 340 hectares of aquaculture area were completely lost; 45 irrigation works, 20 clean water works were damaged; 17,149m of canals, 7,117m of river and stream embankments were washed away.
Many areas of serious landslides have cut off traffic and made it difficult for relief goods to reach. In this context, volunteer groups have come to the scene to contribute significantly to extending the spirit of mutual love. Volunteer activities in Vi Xuyen are part of a series of social security programs of the Great Mandala Tay Thien Stupa and the Thang Long-YDA Vietnam Youth Club.
Over the years, a series of community programs have been organized in mountainous provinces, besides sharing material things, it is also a journey to sow seeds of goodness, arouse the spirit of service and social responsibility, connecting Vietnamese people in brotherhood, compassion and the power of sharing.
