Recently, we visited Lo Thi Anh Nguyet in Phieng Ang village (Tan Uyen commune) with Captain Pham Duy Khanh, an officer of the Criminal Police Department of Lai Chau province. Nguyet is only 6 years old this year, the daughter of a victim who was murdered by her lover more than a year ago. When her mother died, Nguyet was only 5 years old, not yet aware of the pain. After her mother died, she lived with her grandparents and her uncle's family. But the two uncles also had to take care of their own children, making life difficult. Her grandparents were old and weak, and did not have the conditions to take care of her properly.
Working group of forces under Lai Chau Provincial Police visited, encouraged and gave gifts to TTN's family (Ta Hu village, Pac Ta commune).
As the force directly investigating and handling the above case, witnessing the tragic, poor and pitiful scene of Nguyet, the soldiers of the Criminal Police Department adopted Nguyet as their “adopted sister”. Every month, the department assigned Captain Pham Duy Khanh to prepare food, drinks and essential items to send to Nguyet.
Captain Pham Duy Khanh said: Directly investigating and fighting the case, realizing that Nguyet was in such a disadvantaged situation, the unit adopted her as a "foster sister". The support level is 1 million VND/month and will be maintained until she is an adult. Despite our busy work, we still take the time to visit or ask teachers at the school where Nguyet studies to help buy things.
Regarding Nam Can Kindergarten (Tan Uyen Commune) - where Nguyet studies, after the heartbreaking incident, the teaching staff always gives her love to help her overcome her longing for her mother. Teacher Dao Thi Huong informed: I noticed that Nguyet is more confident when talking to adults, especially happier in life.
In June 2024, TTN (13 years old) in Ta Hu village, Pac Ta commune had negative thoughts because her parents were arrested for drug-related crimes. After N., there were 3 younger siblings, born in 2013, 2015, and 2018. Immediately after receiving the information, officers and soldiers from the criminal, drug, and general forces established a working group to visit, encourage, and give gifts to N. and her sisters.
It is known that there are also 4 children of N.'s uncle who are also in a helpless situation because their parents are serving prison sentences for drug-related crimes. The 8 children have no father, no mother, and rely on their elderly grandmother who is no longer able to work.
Sharing and spreading love, police officers from Tan Uyen and Pac Ta communes have established working groups to visit, encourage and give gifts of essential items. Especially advising TTN to stabilize their psychology and take care of the children with their grandmother. Connecting with the Provincial Social Protection Center and coordinating with the Party Committee and authorities to complete the procedures to bring the children to the facility for care and nurturing.
Ms. Luong Thi Lap - Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Protection Center said: We always open our arms, not letting orphans, fatherless, motherless children live in disadvantage. The center closely coordinates with functional forces and local authorities to complete procedures in accordance with regulations, and welcome the children to be raised.
Not leaving the less fortunate children behind, the police officers on the front lines of crime prevention and control of the Provincial Police always accompany and fight side by side with the less fortunate children. From there, they will have a better future.
