The Ao Dai received a Vietnamese record

Previously, on the evening of April 22, in a series of activities to celebrate the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the 2023 National Culture and Tourism Week in Phu Tho, designer Phuong Ho introduced the Non Song Gam Dat Ao Dai with Vietnam's famous landscapes, meticulously hand-embroidered and hand-sewn, to promote Vietnamese tourism and spread the message about our country's traditional culture.

This ao dai has just been recognized by the Vietnam Record Organization as "The longest hand-sewn ao dai, introducing and promoting famous landscapes of Vietnam".

The ao dai weighs nearly 250kg

The Non Song Gam Voc Ao Dai set a record with a length of 220.6 m and a weight of nearly 250 kg. The product used 410 m of taffeta fabric, hundreds of chiffon lotus leaves, and hundreds of brocade lotus petals.

The ao dai is decorated with hand-painted and hand-embroidered images and millions of hand-sewn crystal beads. The weight of the ao dai also comes from 50 meters of Vietnamese silk, 380 stone-studded edgings, 100 rolls of chopstick and wool yarn, and 300 large stones.

Designer Phuong Ho said it took her and her team more than a month to make this ao dai. Of these, 20 embroiderers, tailors, and beaders worked day and night. The ao dai consists of a body and a skirt with 31 paintings combined. Each painting on the skirt represents a famous landscape of Vietnam.

The record-breaking Ao Dai of Non Song Gam Dac with the length of the Golden Bridge across Van Lang Lake, Viet Tri City, Phu Tho Province, is all the heart of the Southern children dedicated to the Ancestral Land on the occasion of celebrating the Hung Kings' Commemoration Day and the Ancestral Land Cultural Tourism Week 2023.

"The Non Song Gam Dap Ao Dai is scheduled to be performed in a charity program to raise funds for disadvantaged children in Ho Chi Minh City in June. This is the second charity activity, helping to realize the dream of less fortunate children to perform in a fashion show" - designer Phuong Ho said.

Designer Phuong Ho said he will start making a new Ao Dai record with brocade connecting the quintessence of the Northwest and perform it on a special occasion in Phu Tho.
