After the success of AFC 21 and AFC 23, the 25th professional MMA tournament Angel's Fighting Championship (AFC) continues to take place on June 10 at The Grand Ho Tram Strip resort ( Ba Ria - Vung Tau ) with the gathering of famous martial artists.
AFC 25 event takes place on June 10
This event is organized by Cocky Buffalo, a professional martial arts training and event organizer in Vietnam, in collaboration with AFC and is broadcast exclusively on VTVcab. Angel's Fighting Championship is a professional tournament held periodically in Korea and attracts many international-class players to compete. The tournament applies a very different competition format, helping to optimize the advantages of grappling fighters and limit the attacks of striking fighters.
The clash promises to be fierce between Robson Oliveira and Rene Catalan Jr.
The AFC 25 event includes 6 matches, the most notable of which will be the match between Brazilian BJJ champion Robson Oliveira and Filipino opponent Rene Catalan Jr. in the fly-weight category. Robson Oliveira currently holds a BJJ black belt with 3 championships in Brazil. The 1993-born fighter competed in several MMA matches in his home country before moving to live and train in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the AFC 23 event held in Vung Tau in early March, Robson Oliveira defeated his Korean opponent Cho Joon-gun with an arm triangle. This fighter also made waves in the Vietnamese MMA community with a controversial loss to Tran Ngoc Luong. Facing Rene Catalan, who has 9 wins after only 10 appearances, will certainly be a big challenge for Robson Oliveira, and the Brazilian champion is even considered the "underdog"...
Phan Huy Hoang "fights" Pablo Eduardo
Equally exciting is the battle between the only representative of Vietnam at this event, boxer Phan Huy Hoang and Pablo Eduardo in the bantamweight category (featherweight, 53kg). The 27-year-old boxer from Minh Sang MMA training center who made a strong impression at the professional tournament Vietnam LION Championship will have to face his Brazilian opponent who is on a 3-match winning streak. With his superb BJJ technique, Pablo Eduardo once caused a shock with a quick submission victory over Norov Azizbek (Uzbekistan) at AFC 23.
Another name that will be noticed at AFC 25 is Hong Jun-young, a fighter from the famous Korean Zombie training center, who will face Filipino karate master, Mhar John Manahan in the light-weight class (46kg) and is the opening match of the event. Along with Hong Jun-young, another representative of Korean Zombie, Han Gil-choi (6 wins/9 matches) will have a promising fierce match with Felipe Negochadle (Brazil) in the bantam-weight class. Nosherwan Khanzada (Hong Kong - China) will face Jang Bum Seok (Korea) in the middle-weight class (72kg).
Han Gil-choi lies to Felipe Negochadle
In the main event, two experienced grandmasters, Rodrigo Caporal (Brazil) will face Burenzorig Batmunkh (Mongolia) in the light-weight division. With both having impressive victories after more than 20 fights, the two fighters promise to deliver a classic showdown between a Jiu-Jitsu master and a Kick-boxing master.
