Screening two classic films on the occasion of the founding day of the Vietnamese Cinema industry

NDO - According to information from the Vietnam Film Institute, on the occasion of the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Cinema Industry March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2025, the Vietnam Film Institute organized the film program "Vietnamese Film Days to celebrate the 72nd anniversary of the founding of the Vietnamese Cinema Industry".

The program includes two famous Vietnamese feature films: "Ephemeral Life" (1990, directed by Hai Ninh, the film won the Silver Lotus Award at the 9th Vietnam Film Festival) and "Two Mothers" (1975, directed by Nguyen Khac Loi, the film was awarded a Certificate of Merit by the Jury at the 4th Vietnam Film Festival).

The movie "Ephemeral Life" will be shown on March 12 and the movie "Two Mothers" will be shown for free to the audience on March 12 and 13 respectively at Ngoc Khanh Cinema, 523 Kim Ma, Ba Dinh, Hanoi .

"Ephemeral Life" is the sequel to the historical film "Long Tri Night Festival" directed by Hai Ninh. The film is one of the successes of Vietnamese cinema in the renovation period with the historical - costume genre. "Ephemeral Life" brings together the best cast of the last three decades of the 20th century, with elaborate settings based on a story that was described by writer Nguyen Huy Tuong with great appeal about the intrigues of the royal court. At the 9th Vietnam Film Festival, the film won the Silver Lotus Award for feature film.

"Two Mothers" is a Vietnamese film about friendship during the war between Vietnam and Laos directed by People's Artist Nguyen Khac Loi. The film was produced by Vietnam Feature Film Studio and premiered in 1975.

The film revolves around the friendship, the process of fighting and sacrificing of the two peoples of Vietnam and Laos during the Indochina War. The film was first released to Vietnamese audiences in August 1975, and received 2 awards for excellent director and cinematography at the 4th Vietnam Film Festival in 1977.
