DTO - In order to ensure political security, order and social safety in the area, in the first months of 2024, the police of units and localities in the province have effectively deployed crime prevention work in the spirit of "Proactively preventing and fighting crimes from afar, early on".

To achieve high efficiency, the Public Security of units and localities in the province advises Party committees and authorities at all levels to strengthen leadership, direction and mobilize the combined strength of the entire political system and the entire population to actively participate in preventing, combating, denouncing crimes, social evils and violations of the law; simultaneously carry out a peak period of launching attacks and suppressing crimes. In particular, the Commune-level Public Security simultaneously launches patrols, controls, and ensures security and order at the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Quoc - Chief of Staff of the Provincial Police, said: In order to improve the effectiveness of crime prevention, in recent times, the Police of units and localities have proactively coordinated, strengthened propaganda, mobilized people to raise awareness and responsibility for law enforcement; encouraged and mobilized thousands of cadres and people to actively participate in preventing, detecting and denouncing crimes; launched the movement "All people protect national security"; proactively reviewed, conducted questioning and deterred subjects under management. Thereby, contributing to ensuring political security, order and social safety in the area.

According to statistics, since the beginning of the year, the police of units and localities have called, warned, andeducated over 2,200 young people who have committed crimes and have shown signs of committing crimes; patrolled, controlled to ensure security and order, dispersed 246 small gambling spots, and educated 4,285 people who have shown signs of committing crimes and gathering late at night. Along with that, focusing on doing a good job of grasping the situation, managing subjects, and strengthening measures to combat and suppress crimes. Notably, the police of units and localities have strengthened measures to prevent crimes, especially crimes of murder due to social causes, crimes of intentional injury, child sexual abuse, fraud, theft, disturbing public order, crimes related to "black credit", gambling, etc. to minimize the causes and conditions for the occurrence of crimes.

During the peak period of the crackdown on crimes to protect the Lunar New Year 2024 (from November 15, 2023 to February 15, 2024), the whole province had 116 criminal cases (an increase of 19 cases compared to the same period in 2023). The provincial police and local police investigated and solved 113 cases, arrested and prosecuted 152 subjects, reaching over 97%. Of which, 14 very serious and extremely serious cases occurred, 13 cases were investigated and solved, reaching 92.86%, 19 subjects were arrested and prosecuted; 102 less serious and serious cases, 100 cases were investigated and solved, reaching over 98%, 133 subjects were arrested and prosecuted.

On the front of fighting drug crimes, the provincial police coordinated with local police to eliminate 42 cases, 72 subjects illegally storing, buying, selling, and transporting drugs, seizing 312.27 grams of synthetic drugs, 99 synthetic drug tablets, 972 grams of dried marijuana, and many related exhibits. Mainly cases of buying, selling, storing, and organizing illegal use of drugs in small quantities, subjects buying drugs from neighboring provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to use and sell to others for profit... In addition, the provincial police force inspected and detected 296 subjects positive for drugs, of which 184 subjects were recorded, 112 subjects were sent to drug rehabilitation; eliminated 172 gambling dens, arrested and handled nearly 1,000 subjects, seized about 2 billion VND and related exhibits. Mainly traditional gambling subjects such as: cockfighting, over/under, card games, lottery, football betting... Prostitution was eradicated in 2 cases, 20 subjects were arrested and prosecuted for prostitution.

In the field of fighting and combating smuggling, the police forces promptly detected and arrested 198 cases, 67 individuals and 7 organizations with acts of smuggling, transporting prohibited goods, goods without invoices or documents; seized over 115 thousand packs of foreign cigarettes of all kinds, 550 kg of sugar, 2,000 cosmetic products without invoices or documents... In addition, 31 cases , 42 individuals and 2 organizations were recorded for violating environmental laws and violating food safety and hygiene...

The above results have significantly contributed to maintaining political stability, order and social security in the area. At the same time, it has curbed the increase and occurrence of crimes and VPPL; and improved the effectiveness of crime prevention from early on, from afar, and from the grassroots level.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Trung Quoc - Chief of Staff of the Provincial Police Department said that in the coming time, the police force will continue to improve the quality of situational awareness, analysis and forecasting in key areas, subjects and areas to advise the Party Committee and the Government to promptly direct solutions to maintain political security and social order and safety in all situations. In particular, focusing on reviewing disputes and complaints among the people, proposing the Party Committee and the Government to direct solutions from the grassroots level, not allowing them to become complicated "hot spots" in terms of security and order.

The police force synchronously deployed measures to maintain internal political security, information security, network security, and religious security. Continued to effectively combat key subjects in criminal, drug, economic, environmental, and high-tech crimes; dismantled dangerous criminal gangs, criminals using weapons and explosives to commit crimes, and criminals resisting law enforcement officers...

At the same time, promptly detect and resolve complex emerging issues regarding social order such as: groups of teenagers gathering and fighting, causing injuries late at night; preventing crimes of murder, intentional injury, gambling, high-tech crimes, disturbing public order, robbery, snatching, extortion, theft, fraud, economics, and environment; effectively deploying peak periods of attacking and suppressing crimes by topic; strictly managing all types of subjects at the grassroots level; effectively applying the National Population Database; ensuring traffic order and safety.
