According to the bulletin of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from the evening of May 28 to May 29, the Northern region and Thanh Hoa are likely to experience a period of moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, locally very heavy rain with total rainfall from 30-80mm, some places over 180mm; there may be localized rain with high intensity over 100mm in 3 hours.
Pursuant to Official Dispatch No. 2446/BNNMT-DD dated May 26, 2025 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ; to proactively respond to heavy rain, the risk of floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides, the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention requests the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities and related Departments, branches and units to continue to strictly implement Official Dispatch No. 03/CD-UBND dated May 23, 2025 of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman on focusing on responding to the risk of landslides, flash floods, localized flooding and Official Dispatch No. 28/PCTT,TKCN&PTDS dated May 20, 2025 of the Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Disaster Prevention on proactively responding to heavy rain.
At the same time, closely monitor forecasts and warnings about heavy rain, floods, inundation, flash floods, and landslides; provide timely and complete information to local authorities and people to proactively take appropriate preventive measures.
Deploy shock forces to inspect and review residential areas along rivers, streams, and low-lying areas at risk of floods, flash floods, and landslides to proactively clear blocked and obstructed flows; organize the relocation and evacuation of people to safe places.
Organize forces to guard, control, support, and guide traffic safety for people and vehicles, especially at culverts, spillways, deep flooded areas, areas with strong currents, areas where landslides have occurred or are at risk of landslides. Resolutely do not allow people and vehicles to pass if safety is not ensured. Do not let unfortunate human losses occur due to carelessness or subjectivity.
Arrange forces, materials and means to fix problems and ensure smooth traffic on main traffic routes when heavy rain occurs.
Check and review key works, paying attention to dams, dykes; prevent and combat natural disasters; update response plans to ensure safety of works when floods occur.
Prepare drainage plan to prevent flooding and protect production, industrial parks, urban areas, and residential areas.
Ready forces and means for rescue when required.
Organize to overcome consequences caused by floods, inundation, flash floods, landslides, support people to soon stabilize their lives and production.
Thanh Hoa Newspaper, Thanh Hoa Radio and Television Station increased the time to report news and articles about the developments of heavy rain to authorities at all levels and people.
The provincial Hydrometeorological Station closely monitors, forecasts, warns, and promptly informs about developments of heavy rain to proactively deploy response measures.
Organize on-duty seriously, regularly report to the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and the Standing Office of the Provincial Command for Civil Defense, Incident Response, Natural Disasters and Search and Rescue.
